After nearly three years of implementing the Program on the shift of agricultural structure towards hi-tech models for the period of 2016-2020 under the Resolution of the 11th local Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure, Bau Bang district has reached a variety of considerable results.
Production area planning
Bau Bang district has step by step made the planning of production areas based on soil conditions and strong points to get the annual growth of agricultural production value at 5%-6%, the average production value on one hectare of farming land at VND 90million-VND110million per year. So far, there have been 100% of the district’s perennial farming land under mechanization; 80% of breeding facilities with automatic feeding system; 34% of total poultry and 29% of total cattle bred in accordance with the process of hi-tech application. The district’s total area on cultivation with hi-tech application has reached 192.7 hectares. In terms of animal husbandry, the whole district now has a total of 11 pig and chicken breeding facilities under the air-conditioned formula.
The district has also actively implemented central and provincial policies on credit for agriculture and rural development. Nguyen Huu Chi, Secretary of the district’s Party Committee said that these policies have created favorable conditions for the district to well uphold resources to boost agricultural production. The district has further promoted hi-tech agricultural models. Reportedly, the whole district now has 12 farms with VietGap certificates. This will be the foundation for the district to promote hi-tech agricultural models under the Resolution of the local Party congress for the 2015-2020 tenure.
Hi-economic efficiency
Many farmers in the district have bravely invested in the state-of-the-art equipment for their cultivation and animal husbandry in response to the local policy on hi-tech agricultural development.
Le Thanh Tam, Vice-Chairman of the district’s People’s Committee said that the district’s effort in boosting the linkage between the State, scientists, businesses and farmers has contributed to promoting the local agricultural production.
Currently, along with Thanh Thuy pomelo farm in Long Nguyen commune with the annual profit of VND8billion, the district has many farmers with the average income of VND1.2billion and VND6billion per year. For example, Le Van Phan in Tru Van Tho commune can earn the annual profit of VND4billion-VND6billion from his sweet tangerine farm. Or, the pig farm of Pham Van Tao in Lai Uyen commune can reach the annual profit of more than VND1.3billion…
In addition, the whole district has more than 900 farming households getting involved in the hi-tech models of growing mushrooms, vegetables, orchids…with the average income of VND100million-VND650million per year.
