Tran Thanh Liem, Permanent Vice-Secretary of Bau Bang district said that the district’s restructuring of agricultural sector has been implemented through the local program on the shift of production structure towards high technologies for the period of 2016-2020. Accordingly, the district has concentrated on fostering the local main agricultural products in accordance with the trend of zoning areas on the growing of safe vegetables, fruits and animal husbandry under VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards to raise the value of the local agricultural products.
So far, 100% of the district’s area of growing perennial trees has been mechanized and there have been 80% of farms on animal husbandry with hi-tech application.
Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, Chairwoman of Bau Bang district’s Farmers’ Association said that applying high technologies into agricultural production has brought the local farmers high income. For example, Le Van Phan, a farmer in Tru Van Tho commune can secure VND4billion-VND6billion in profit from his tangerine farm every year. The fruit trees-growing model of Nhi Van Xum also helps him earn more than VND1.2billion in profit every year…Along with households with high income, the whole district has more than 900 farming households with the annual average income of between VND100million-VND500million.
Measures implemented in a synchronous way
To effectively realize the local agricultural restructuring, Bau Bang district will make synchronous investment in terms of infrastructure facilities and improve State administration along with developing human resources and mobilizing resources to increase investment for agricultural production.
The district will realize infrastructure investment for agricultural development in association with new rural construction and collective economic development in communes. In addition, the district will build up a synchronous infrastructure system, hasten the progress of realizing projects in hi-tech agricultural production areas; set up more farms while continuing implementing the province’s support policies…
Mr.Liem added that the district will consolidate a system on agricultural promotion, support consultancy and trade program towards the increase of efficiency; sign contracts on production-consumption based on a win-win combination; boost sci-tech transfer among farmers, especially replicate hi-tech agricultural models in line with the local farmers’ production conditions.
