With the result of FDI investment attraction in 2014, local industrial parks and urban areas invested by Becamex IDC have thus far attracted more than US$10bil. Accordingly, BEcamex IDC has contributed importantly to accelerate local development of socio-economy.
Great contributions
2014 was the year attracting many FDI projects in industrial parks cooperated or invested by Becamex IDC. Specifically, Vietnam-Singapore industrial parks cooperated between Becamex IDC and Singapore absorbed US$623mil in FDI capital in the past year, an 86.3% increase from 2013, reaching 207.5% of 2014’s plan and accounting for 40% of FDI investment capital. This result lifted total projects invested in VSIPs in Binh Duong up to 414, 393 of which were FDI ones accounting for US$5.43bil and 21 domestic ones, capitalized at VND3,894bil.
At My Phuoc industrial parks invested by Becamex IDC, 2014 had new projects granted investment certificates, lifting FDI capital in My Phuoc 1,2 and 3 industrial parks up to over 400 projects with the total investment capital of more than US$3.2bil.
Many enterprises highly appreciated efficiency of industrial parks invested by Becamex IDC and said that these industrial parks possess modern and synchronous infrastructure facilities and abundant workfoce and more meeting requirements of investors.
Besides, investment attraction in industrial production in the recent years has focused on service and urban areas. For instance, Ecolakes My Phuoc project in My Phuoc ward, Ben Cat town covers an area of 226ha with the total investment capital of over US$620mil – a joint venture project between SP Setia Berhad (Malaysia) and Becamex IDC; US$1.2bil Tokyu Binh Duong urban area in Binh Duong New City invested by Japan’s Tokyu Corporation and Becamex IDC and more.
With the effective investment attraction, Becamex IDC has contributed importantly to help develop local socio-economy. As a result, the local budget collection increases sharply over the past years, hundreds of laborers are placed jobs and more, impacting positively on local growth and helping Binh Duong become a central city prior to 2020.

From efficiency of investment attraction in industrial parks and urban areas invested by Becamex IDC, possibly speaking Becamex IDC’s goal not only creates profits but aims at common development of the Southern key economic zone and the country. This shows importance of Becamex IDC for spurring local socio-economic growth.
With the goal of constant renovation for development, in order to keep attracting investment projects in industrial parks, Becamex IDC has continued to expand cooperation with new partners. Recently, in the framework of friendship cooperation between Binh Duong province and Eindhoven city of Netherlands, Becamex IDC inked an MoU with Brainport Company of this city. Accordingly, Brainport and Becamex IDC would study feasibility of model of the State-research institute-enterprise that Brainport reaches many successes; establish compounds including open research centers linking with universities, prestigious centers in Netherlands and the world. The two companies will spur their advantages through attracting corporations and big companies. Brainport will introduce and support Becamex IDC to contact with Eindhoven authority for assistance. In addition, Brainport will cooperate and share, counsel human resources, technology, business and quality of living and more.
Nguyen Van Hung, general director of Becamex IDC said that cooperation between Becamex IDC and Brainport would promote advantages of two sides, contributing to Binh Duong and Eindhoven’s growth. Binh Duong possesses well infrastructure facilities of industry, service, health and education and so on while Eindhoven city obtains advantages of hi-technology. Therefore, the cooperation will open new opportunities, facilitating further two sides’ enterprises’ development as well as absorb more many projects into Binh Duong.
According to Nguyen Van Hung, Becamex IDC has great cooperation with partners such as Singapore, Japan to contribute to Binh Duong and the Southern key economic zone. Thanks to hi-technology of the Dutch enterprises, new enterprises will continue to invest in Binh Duong province.
Became IDC is the state-run corporation leading in the country with advantages of developing industrial parks and urban areas. Until now, 5 projects of industrial parks and complexes across provinces such as Binh Duong, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong and Quang Ngai have attracted more 500 investors from 23 nations and territories with the total investment capital of US$7.4bil, placing jobs for more than 140,000 people.
