Recently, under Decision 2541/QD-UBND dated Sept. 6, 2011, the provincial People’s Committee ratified a project of Becamex social housing for the 2011-2015 period invested by Becamex IDC.
Economic development and attention to laborers
Over the past 15 years, Binh Duong has led the country in industrial development. In addition, housing for laborers has become a key focus for local leaders and businesses. Therefore, the local administration has urged economic sectors to build boarding houses for laborers. In the recent years, the locality has invested in building social houses for low incomers but only 13,480 laborers have enjoyed interests from the program.
Housing for low incomers has been paid attention by the Government through Resolution 18/NQ-CP dated April 20, 2009, Decision 66/2009/QD-TTg and Decision 67/2009/QD-TTg dated April 24, 2009. The resolution and decisions are to spur accommodation building for students, laborers and low incomers at urban areas.
Becamex IDC’s foundations of building social houses
From a special attention to laborers, Becamex IDC has decided to ease local administration’s burden of investment in social houses for laborers.
Becamex social housing project has been implemented according to modes of construction-sale (not for rent) and launched across Thu Dau Mot, Thuan An, Di An towns, Ben Cat, Tan Uyen districts with the total area of 1,306,876sqm. The project will offer accommodation for 164,000 residers. Residers of the project will enjoy conveniences of advanced technical infrastructure.
In terms of housing sale mechanism, local laborers with stable job and local recognition of shortage of house will be registered to buy social houses.
