Becamex IDC also hastened projects at Binh Duong New City to perfect a modern urban area and meet new requirements of local development strategy on all areas. Besides, Becamex IDC also invested strongly in Becamex City Center project at Thu Dau Mot town. Under the project, Becamex Department Store has contributed to serve for local residents’ shopping demand. This is a crucial breakthrough in the process of urban rejuvenation to help residents approach hi-grade services and comfortable accommodation and spur Thu Dau Mot to be a gateway of an industrial city in the future.
Along with investing in industrial, urban and commercial infrastructure facilities, Becamex IDC has focused on developing fields of education and healthcare. Accordingly, investment in the Eastern International University has met demand on developing hi-tech and managerial areas. At present, the university has been put into operation with teaching staff inside and outside the country. Furthermore, the 12ha, US$74mil International General Hospital has been hastened its progress at Thuan An town. This is a large scaled and modern hospital.
Despite the global crisis, Becamex IDC has cooperated with central and local agencies to hold international seminars on investment attraction to spread Binh Duong image and trademark to foreign market. As a result, the province has lured 28 projects, 24 of which are from foreign nations with the total registered capital of $550mil. The result has lifted the total investors involving in Becamex IDC’s projects up to 876 with the registered capital of about $7.7bil. This is an important source to create an economic infrastructure for local long-term development and to spur Binh Duong into one of the country’s biggest economic centers.
In 2011, Becamex IDC reached VMD11,458bil in turnover, VND2,389bil in profit, and paid over VND1,000 to the State budget.
Sustainable development
The above results were thanks to effort and vision of Becamex IDC’s collectives and leaders. Possibly speaking, Becamex IDC’s collectives and leaders have been aware of their responsibility for local socio-economic development.
With the vision, the company’s directorate has eyed fields of healthcare and education to increase its trademark and prestige. Becamex IDC’s membership companies have formed up a multi-field economic group.
With the results done in 2011, Becamex IDC has in this year targeted to win VND11,500bil in turnover, VND2,400bil in profit and paid over VND1tril to the State budget. The company will focus on social housing projects, spur investment promotion and so on.
With the well preparation, it is believed that Becamex IDC will fulfill its proposed plans, contributing to the common development of the Southern key economic zone and the whole country.
