With his own efforts, Bui Van Cuong in Tru Van Tho commune’s hamlet 1 in Ben Cat district has become the owner of a rubber nursery of 57 hectares, generating jobs for more than 70 laborers and earning billions of dong every year from supplying seedlings for households and projects at home and abroad.
Where there's a will, there's a way
Bui Van Cuong was born in northern Ha Tay province and early dropped out of school because of poverty. In 1997, he and his friends with the same circumstance left homeland Ha Tay for Binh Duong to set themselves up in business.

decided to get involved in cultivating rubber seedlings to change his own future.
Together with instructions by his uncle, Cuong and his wife researched relevant
documents and visited many effective rubber nursery models to develop this
field.
In 2004, Cuong signed a contact leasing 27 hectares of land from a local resident and then hired laborers to develop his rubber nursery. He made more efforts to overcome difficulties and actively took part in training courses organized by provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and Department of Forestry to improve his knowledge in this field. As a result, his 27-ha nursery was verdantly covered by hi-quality rubber seedlings.
His rubber nursery got a boost after nearly five years from 2004 to 2009. In 2009, his rubber nursery supplied 2mln rubber seedlings for clients, helping him secure a profit of around VND1.5bln.
Getting billionaire from seedlings
Thanks to having a stable consumption channel, Cuong’s rubber nursery is very secure for development. Also in 2009, he signed a long-term contract supplying rubber seedlings for Hoang Anh Gia Lai Group.
Realizing that there is a great demand for rubber seedlings, Cuong decided to set up Ha Thanh Private Enterprise specialized in supplying rubber seedlings while buying 30 hectares of perennial-growing land in Cambodia at rubber seedling market
Currently, Cuong is the owner of a rubber nursery of 57 hectares. His rubber nursery mainly supplies various rubber seedlings for southeastern provinces, Laos and Cambodia with the annual output of between VND3mln and VND5mln seedlings, securing an average revenue of around VND5bln and generating stable jobs for 70 laborers with the monthly average income of VND3.7mln…
He has also actively got involved in social activities. In addition to enthusiastically taking part in youth movements, he annually supports VND40mln for the local sports movement.
With the above efforts, Bui Van Cuong is worthy of winning the title of “Good youth in production and business” in the southeastern region. Cuong, on Oct.15, arrived in Ha Noi to attend a ceremony honoring good youth in production and business in 2012. With his achievements done, Cuong is a bright example for young people to follow.
