Being greener, more sustainable

As one of the country’s major industrial hubs, Binh Duong province has, for many years, prioritized environmental protection alongside robust economic development. The province has issued various environmental regulations and invested in industrial parks (Ips) and industrial compounds equipped with waste and wastewater treatment systems that meet environmental standards. At the same time, the province has actively promoted models of circular economy, green production and eco-friendly development.

To support the development of intelligent and greener industries, Binh Duong has long implemented a strategy of zoning industries into Ips and compounds with pre-built environmental infrastructure. Additionally, the province has enforced policies to relocate manufacturing facilities from residential areas into Ips to reduce pollution while supporting businesses in adopting technology for waste treatment projects, compost production and waste-to-energy incineration plants. A noteworthy effort is the application of science and technology in environmental management through the deployment of automated monitoring systems that track environmental indicators 24/7, enabling timely detection of pollution risks and prompt response measures.

In parallel, Binh Duong has been promoting the development of eco-industrial parks (EIPs) to advance smart, green industrialization. These EIPs not only yield economic benefits, but also have positive impacts on the environment and surrounding communities. For example, VSIP III has implemented green growth and circular economy models that help conserve resources and minimize production waste. Notably, the province recently broke ground on two next-generation smart and ecological industrial parks in Bau Bang district: Cay Truong IP and the expanded Bau Bang IP. These parks prioritize attracting high-tech, environmentally friendly industries and are well-positioned to receive high-quality FDI projects in line with the province’s sustainable development strategy.

In addition to these initiatives, the province has implemented numerous social programs to raise public awareness of environmental protection through education campaigns, encouraging waste classification at source and the use of recycled products. Notably, in line with the theme of this year’s World Environment Day—“Beat Plastic Pollution”—Binh Duong has already launched a campaign to tackle plastic pollution. This initiative has mobilized the participation of various levels and sectors, enhancing awareness and accountability among State agencies, social organizations and enterprises in reducing the production, consumption and disposal of plastic waste, non-biodegradable plastic bags and single-use plastics. Let’s start with the smallest actions together, spreading the message of living greenly, living beautifully and living responsibly for the environment and the community.
