At the scientific workshop on "Following tradition, Binh Duong province with a quarter-century journey: Achievements and prospects" just held, leaders of ministries and central agencies, experts have deeply mentioned about the importance of transport connectivity in promoting the development of the southern key economic region, the southern and Central Highlands regions. The experts have also recognized and highly appreciated the province’s proactive investment in connecting regional traffic infrastructure.
The development linkage can be seen in many aspects, in which the connected and synchronous traffic infrastructure plays a very important role. Binh Duong's consistent point of view for many tenures is that traffic must "go ahead, paving the way", becoming a driving force for socio-economic development, not only of the province. In that spirit, in addition to perfecting the local traffic infrastructure system, Binh Duong has paid great attention to perfecting external roads, seamlessly connecting with neighboring localities.
More than 20 years ago, Binh Duong was proactive in expanding National Highway 13 to be able to shoulder the economy of the province and the region, promoting calling for domestic and foreign investment. Recently, National Highway 13 has been once again expanded with total investment of nearly VND1.4trillion, raising from 6 to 8 lanes, along with many overpasses and tunnels to ensure smooth circulation at the development needs in the new period. In addition to National Highway 13, Binh Duong has also put the My Phuoc - Tan Van expressway into operation, shouldering traffic for the whole region.
Provincial leaders has also just had a meeting with leaders of Ho Chi Minh city with the main content being connection for mutual development, especially traffic connection, from road, waterway to railway Leaders of the two localities are highly determined in directing and promoting key projects, quickly removing "bottlenecks", creating common motivation and growing together. Prior to that, Binh Duong was also proactive to propose and advance capital to start construction of the way to Bach Dang 2 bridge and the bridge connecting with Dong Nai, the bridge and road works connecting with Tay Ninh province.
A series of traffic infrastructure projects connecting the region that have been constructed and the ones to be invested by Binh Duong have showed the agility, initiative and responsibility of the province in promoting the comprehensive development of the locality, region and whole country.
