Over the past years, Ben Cat town’s economy reached high growth. The local economic structure was shifted towards industrial production, trade-services and urban development. The above results came from active contributions by FDI enterprises.
To absorb investment projects, Ben Cat town over the past time attached special importance to zoning and developing industrial parks (Ips) and industrial compounds (Ics).
The town has so far had a total of 10 IPs and Ics with more than 3,200 hectares in total, absorbing 3,007 domestic and FDI projects capitalized at more than US$6.04million and VND26.7trillion. In Q1, 2018 alone, the town lured 77 domestic investments totaling more than VND779.2billion and 12 FDI ones capitalized at US$75.8million.
With a well-built infrastructure system connecting with main streets, namely National Highway No.13, DT744, DT748…, district-based IPs has helped investors save transport expenditures and time.
Noticeably, FDI projects at district-based IPs mainly focus on auxiliary and hi-tech industries…There are now many FDI projects with great capital, namely Kumho Asiana Corporation’s automobile tire making factory with total capital of more than US$360million; Orion Vietnam Food Co.Ltd. with US$40million; Huge Bamboo Garment Industry

Huynh Thu Lap, Vice-Chairman of Ben Cat town’s People’s Committee said that over the past time, the town paid more attention to strengthening and improving investment marketing; opportunely implemented preferential policies …, facilitating investors’ development. Especially, the town gave priority to luring projects under the list of priority industries; minimized projects that were labor-intensive, at risk of environmental pollution and outside IPs…
Such these apart, the town has so far made efforts in renovating a process of solving procedures on investment agreement to absorb more projects in accordance with the local development orientations; focused in-depth development on industrial production, aiming to raise the quality of products and investment effectiveness of businesses. The town has also encouraged economic sectors to make investment in auxiliary industries to serve the local agricultural development, projects with new technologies…
