Economy maintains growth momentum
Mr. Nguyen Trong An, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ben Cat City, said that 2024 is a pivotal year for implementing the five-year socio-economic development, national defense and security plan (2021-2025) and the Resolution of the City Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.
This year, the global situation has continued to evolve in complex and unpredictable ways, impacting the economic development of the province in general and the city in particular. Thanks to the strong and decisive leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the City Party Committee, along with the oversight of the City People's Council and the concerted efforts of the business community and residents from all walks of life, the city achieved an economic growth rate of 12.2% compared to 2023. Notable results: In 2024, the city's industrial production value is estimated to reach more than VND 258,108 billion, an increase of 20.3%; total retail sales of goods and service revenue is estimated to reach nearly VND 121,206 billion, an increase of 33.3% compared to 2023.
The production and business environment for enterprises in the city appears stable, with many companies securing orders for 2025. A representative from Kumho Tire Vietnam Co., Ltd., located in My Phuoc 3 Industrial Park, stated that the company is preparing to expand its third phase of production in Binh Duong to meet anticipated market demand in the near future.
Budget collection completed early
As of November 14, the total state budget revenue of Ben Cat City reached 5,353 billion 952 million VND, reaching 100% of the adjusted provincial estimate, reaching 92% of the adjusted city estimate in 2024; total local budget revenue was 1,518 billion 223 million VND, reaching 104% of the adjusted provincial estimate, reaching 86% of the adjusted city estimate. It is estimated that by the end of 2024, the total state budget revenue in the area would reach VND 5,833 billion 195 million, reaching 109% of the adjusted provincial estimate, reaching 100% of the adjusted city estimate, up 21% compared to 2023; total local budget revenue would reach VND 1,761 billion 235 million, reaching 121% of the adjusted provincial estimate, reaching 100% of the adjusted city estimate in 2023, up 33% compared to 2023.
Mr. Nguyen Trong An stated that starting in early 2024, the city's leaders assessed that the global situation continues to evolve unusually. The city continues to focus on administrative reform along with digital transformation, Project 06, and has achieved many important results, laying the foundation for building a digital government, forming a digital economy, and creating a digital society. “In the coming time, the city will enhance growth on the basis of digital transformation and digital economy, ensuring economic balance; continue to stimulate economic restructuring towards increasing the proportion of the service industry. The city mobilizes resources to develop infrastructure and urban services as a premise to attract investment for development, aiming to build Ben Cat into a modern, civilized urban area for sustainable growth," said Mr. Nguyen Trong An.
Mr. Nguyen Trong An added that in order to develop Ben Cat into a modern, civilized, and humane urban area, the city will mobilize and effectively use all resources for development. The city encourages and supports economic sectors to participate in business services, such as investment in developing finance, banking, transportation, cargo terminals, entertainment, eco-tourism combined with resorts; synchronously implements support solutions, creates conditions for the development of collective economic models, small and medium enterprises; at the same time, socializes in transportation, education - training, health, and makes investment in cultural institutions in many forms together with improving the quality of service to the people.

To complete the disbursement of the 2024 public investment plan, Ben Cat City organized the signing of a covenant and launched an emulation movement to accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital in 2024. Accordingly, The city monitors key projects and tracks their progress. It focuses on investment preparation, contractor selection, and project approvals. Detailed implementation plans are developed, and compensation payments for site clearance are made promptly after unit prices are approved. From the beginning of the year to November 14, the disbursement value of public investment projects in the city reached over 235 billion VND, reaching 43.76% of the yearly plan. |
