One of farmers responding new application of sci-tech advances into agricultural production is Nguyen Van Khai in Lai Uyen commune. His model of automatic watering has brought high results for him. Since applying the model, he has economized many expenses of labor, water, electricity.
Another highlighted example of sci-tech application into production is Nguyen Van Dep’s hydroponic model of planting tomato and cucumber in Ben Lieu hamlet, Phu An commune. On an area of 2,000sqm of land, Dep has built a net house and used an automatic system of watering and fertilizing for tomato and cucumber. The automatic system has helped him save many expenses of production. In addition, the net house system helps to minimize penetration of pests and usage of plant protection chemicals. Therefore, his products of tomato and cucumber have brought high quality and safety for consumers.
Dep said that his hi-tech agricultural model is about VND800mil-VND1bil for initial investment expenses and he can take back his investment capital within 3 years later. He added that hi-tech agricultural production requires a large amount of capital and ambition from farmers. In the coming time, Dep will improve temperature in net house and plant other vegetables…
Aside from the mentioned models, Ben Cat district has many exemplary farmers in hi-tech agricultural production. They include Nguyen Thanh Thuy’s model of planting green-skin grapefruit in Long Nguyen commune or Phan Van Them’s model of mushroom.
Otherwise, the locality has many other effective models of pig, chicken breeding with a large scale. The livestock farmsteads have contributed to create important materials for food processing industry and bring high income for local farmers. These results show that Ben Cat district-based hi-tech agriculture has developed strongly.
