Despite the common difficulties of the whole country, Ben Cat district’s economy continued being maintained and getting stable growth in the first half of the year
Positive results
According to Nguyen Huu Chi, acting chairman of the district’s People’s Committee, Ben Cat district gained successes in all aspects in the first half of the year. The district’s economy continued achieving stable growth.
Ben Cat district has attached special importance to promoting hi-tech and clean industries during its development process
Particularly, the district’s total production value reached VND19.5trillion, a year-on-year increase of 37%. Of the total figure, industrial production value was VND16.5trillion, up 36.3%.
The whole district also absorbed 111 foreign and domestic investment projects, brought the total number of foreign and domestic investment projects flowing into the district so far to 1,071 and 388 capitalized at more than VND9.2bln and US$4.5bln.
Also during the time, the district’s total retail sale revenue for commodities and services reached more than VND1.85trillion, a year-on-year increase of 42%. The district saw operation of nearly 20 bank branches and transaction offices, well meeting the local customers’ demand for loans.
Together with price stabilization measures, Ben Cat district joined hands with provincial Department of Industry and Trade and Sai Gon Binh Duong Co.Ltd. to organize the two stages of selling prize-stabilized commodities in communes of Hung Hoa, Tru Van Tho, Long Nguyen, Hoa Loi… The district’s agricultural sector also saw growth, due to the sharp rubber latex price increase.
The district also made positive changes in the social-cultural fields. The district’s mass organizations and businesses introduced jobs to 6,385 laborers, contributing to promoting the local action movements and creating the consensus between Party and people.
Making efforts to fulfill tasks for the rest of year
In the second half of the year, Ben Cat district will strive to reach nearly VND24.45trillion in total production value, including more than VND22trillion from industrial production value, VND1.8trillion from trade-services, VND980bln from agriculture…
One of the district’s important tasks is to further take measures to curb inflation, stabilize the marco-economy and ensure social welfare under the Government’s Resolution No.11. “Thus, Ben Cat district’s authorities at all levels must always reach the unanimity to successfully make the set targets”, Mr.Chi affirmed.
In terms of industrial manufacture, the district will focus on in-depth development; mainly draw the high-tech projects of high additional value and friendly to the environment; promote the development of supportive projects…
Whilst, regarding trade field, Ben Cat district will bend on quickly dealing with cases that have asked the negotiation for places for investment and business registration; encourage economic classes to get involved in the trade-service field…
In the social cultural fields, according to Mr.Chi, the district will introduce jobs to 5,000 laborers; check and upgrade material facilities at schools…; maintain and improve public health care and well realize the national heath care programs.
“More than US$4bln in FDI capital will be disbursed in Ben Cat district. This will be a great motivation for the district to ensure its stable growth in the coming time”, Mr.Chi claimed.
