The strong development of industry and trade-service sectors has changed the image of Ben Cat district today.

Thanks to many integral efforts, Ben Cat district achieved many targets on economic development in 2011.
Ben Cat district’s total production value was estimated at over VND42.5trillion with economic structure: industry of 86.1%, service of 7.7% and agriculture of 6.2%. Of the total figure, industrial production value reached over VND36.6trillion, a year on-year of 22.8%.
In addition, Ben Cat district saw positive change in investment attraction in 2011. Ben Cat district now has home to 8 industrial parks with 4,086 ha in total, which is seen as a foundation for the district to have good results in investment attraction.
In 2011, the district lured additional 185 domestic and FDI projects with a total registered capital of VND747.4bln and US$20.2mln. The figure has also brought the total number of the investment projects flowing into the district so far to 1,575 with a total registered capital of more than VND10.28trillion and nearly VND4.6bln.
Trade-service under right direction
Ben Cat district’s trade-service sector in 2011 grew by 29.1% compared to 2010 with a total service value estimated at more than VND3.27trillion. Noticeably, the district granted 1,508 business registration certificates for households with a total capital of VND256.5bln, lifting the total number of individual business households herein up 15,308 with a total registered capital of over VND1.73trillion.
Ben Cat district has also always focused on trade infrastructure development. In 2011, there were additional two markets, namely Chanh Luu and Hung Hoa, put into operation at the local people’s demand for buying and selling.
Such these apart, in 2011, Ben Cat district cooperated with provincial Department of Industry and Trade and Binh Duong Trading-Service Co.Ltd. to organize mobile sale programs with essential commodities in communes of Hung Hoa, Tru Van Tho, Hoa Loi, Tan Hung, Chanh Phu Hoa…, contributing to stabilizing market prices, ensuring social welfare under the instruction of provincial People’s Committee
Ben Cat district also called for businesses and cooperatives to make investment in the banking system and passenger transportation to meet the demands for the local socio-economic development…
For 2012’s economic targets, Ben Cat district will strive to achieve about VND51.62trillion in total production value, up 21.3% in comparison to 2011; raise the values of industrial production, services, agriculture by 23-24%, 39%-40%, 5%-6%..., respectively.
It is believed that with achievements done in 2011, Ben Cat district’s economy will further gain more successes in the next year.
