*Delegation of Myanmar’s Ministry of Commerce pays working visit to VSIP
Mai Hung Dung, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, on January 10, received Sivan Yam, Chairman of the U.S-Vietnam Chamber of Commerce cum Chairman of the U.S-China Chamber of Commerce. Attending the reception were representatives of sectors, departments in the province.
At the reception, Mr.Sivan Yam expressed his delight at the province’s great changes in recent years. The province’s synchronous infrastructure, administrative reform and support for enterprises proved that this is an ideal destination for investors from the U.S and other countries in the world.
Mr.Dung also said over the past years, Binh Duong spared no efforts in investment attraction at the local demand for development. So far, the province has lured nearly US$26billion in FDI capital, ranking fifth in the country and the province’s export turnover has also accounted for more than 12% of the country’s total export value…He has great expectations of the increase of FDI capital flow from the U.S, especially when there are numerous activities to boost comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. He also said that Binh Duong has always created the best conditions for investors, including ones from the U.S.
*On the morning of the same day, a delegation from Myanmar’s Ministry of Commerce, led by Than Myint, Myanmar’s Minister of Commerce, paid a working visit to Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) in Thuan An town. Ly Hung, Deputy Head of the VSIP Management Board and Nguyen Phu Thinh, General Director of VSIP Joint Venture Company received the delegation.
At the delegation, the delegation was heard a brief introduction on the development of the province in general and VSIP in particular. Members of the delegation also spoke highly of the province’s FDI attraction with open policies while congratulating the province on its achievements after 20 years of reestablishment, which is seen as useful experience for Myanmar to develop in the coming time. Also according to the delegation, VSIP is an effective model and it will further reach robust growth in the future.
In the framework of the visit, the delegation also toured Trung Nguyen coffee factory in Ben Cat town.
