On the morning of November 20, Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of Binh Duong provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, had a working session with the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) led by Dominik Meichle, Vice Chairman of EuroCham Vietnam. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the organization of the high-level forum "Green Growth 2024" in conjunction with an exhibition in Binh Duong.
During the meeting, Nguyen Loc Ha stated that Binh Duong is currently ranked second in the country in terms of attracting foreign investment, with a total investment capital of over USD 40.2 billion and leading in various sectors nationwide. Binh Duong is prioritizing investment in high-tech, advanced, environmentally friendly sectors with low labor intensity, aiming to create high added value. Particularly, Binh Duong has a strategy to build and develop smart cities, green industries, and green urban areas. In 2023, Binh Duong was honored by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) as the Intelligent Community of the year – the Top 1 ICF 2023.
Nguyen Loc Ha expressed confidence that, based on Binh Duong's diplomatic relations with 13 localities worldwide, being a reliable partner of three prestigious international organizations: ICF, Horasis, and World Trade Center, along with the experience of regularly organizing international and national events and the credibility of EuroCham, the high-level forum "Green Growth 2024" in Binh Duong will be a great success.
Dominik Meichle stated that, based on practical survey results, EuroCham desires to collaborate with Binh Duong in organizing the high-level forum "Green Growth 2024" and an exhibition in the province. EuroCham is a joint venture representing over 1,400 European businesses. The forum is an activity that supports Vietnam in general and Binh Duong in particular in green development, especially in green economy.
With the successful outcomes of the Green Growth 2022, 2023 forums in Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi, Dominik Meichle hoped for close cooperation and coordination with Binh Duong in logistics support to ensure the success of the high-level forum "Green Growth 2024".
