On the afternoon of November 18, provincial People’s Committee had an online meeting with leaders of Eindhoven city in the Netherlands.
The event was attended by Nguyen Hoang Thao, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Mai Hung Dung, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee, Head of the Executive Board for Binh Duong Smart City; Nguyen Van Hung, CEO of Becamex IDC.
For the Netherlands, attending the event were Stijn Steenbakkers, Deputy Major of Eindhoven city; Pham Viet Anh, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Netherlands; Carel Richter, Consul General of the Netherlands in HCM city; Peter Portheine, Director of Brainport Development Corporation.
Speaking at the event, Mr.Thao thanked the government of Eindhoven city and experts of Brainport Development Corporation for their efforts in helping Binh Duong implement the Triple Helix model in smart city development. He also sincerely thanked the Vietnamese Embassy in the Netherlands, the Consulate General of the Netherlands in HCM city for their efforts in connecting Binh Duong with partners in the Netherlands, contributing to strengthening cooperation between the province and Eindhoven city.
He stressed that the province will further implement the Binh Duong smart city project, developing the Binh Duong Innovation Zone. The province wants to strengthen deep cooperation with Eindhoven city and Brainport Development Coportation, with focus on some large-scale projects, including the Binh Duong Smart city, the Binh Duong Innovation Zone, the Science-Technology Industrial Park, the World Trade Center (WTC), that are now underway.
For his part, Mr.Stijn Steenbakkers believed that the cooperation between Binh Duong and Eindhoven city will get more thriving while pledging to boost support for the province in the local strategic projects, successfully developing Binh Duong smart city.
