On April 22, Nguyen Van Danh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a video conference to promote Belgian investment held by the Embassy of Vietnam in Belgium in collaboration with Becamex IDC Corporation and relevant units. Attending the conference were Andries Gryffroy, Vice President of the Belgian Senate, President of the Belgian-Vietnamese Union; Nguyen Van Thao, Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium; and the Vietnamese Delegation besides the European Union (EU); Paul Jansen, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Vietnam.
Speaking at the conference, Nguyen Van Danh said that Binh Duong is currently ranked second in the country in terms of FDI attraction (after Ho Chi Minh City) with a total of 4,042 projects from 65 countries and territories, total registered capital of more than US$39.4 billion. In particular, Belgian enterprises have invested in 5 projects with a total registered capital of more than US$39 million.
In the coming time, Binh Duong prioritizes attracting foreign investment to serve green transformation, such as sustainable energy, green economy, circular economy from developed countries, the world's leading potential partners with modern levels of governance, including Belgian partners, into high-tech, environmentally friendly, less labor-intensive industries, creating high added value; auxiliary industries, high-tech agriculture etc., especially attracting investment in the Science Technology Industrial Park with the goal of becoming an innovation center of the Southern Key Economic Region.
On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Danh respectfully invited Belgian investors, businesses to Binh Duong to learn about investment cooperation opportunities. Binh Duong hopes to continue receiving the cooperation from the Embassy of Vietnam in Belgium, business associations of the two countries supporting the province in inviting investment attraction, expanding the relationship to enhance bilateral cooperation and multilateral cooperation, create new breakthroughs in the context of Industrial Revolution 4.0 and international integration.
