Binh Duong continues being an attractive destination for foreign investors

Provincial People’s Committee yesterday held a ceremony of granting investment licences to FDI projects for the first stage of 2017, in attendance of Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial People’s Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee together with leaders of relevant sectors and departments. At the ceremony, 43 newly-registered FDI projects and 18 extra-ones were granted investment licences with total investment capital of more than US$1.34billion.

FDI capital reaching 96% of year’s plan

The whole province last year absorbed US$2.11billion or 151% of the year’s plan. Noticeably, province-based industrial parks (IPs) lured 201 newly-registered FDI projects totaling US$1.3billion and 89 extra-ones with U$513.9million.

In this stage, there were 43 newly-registered FDI projects and 18 extra-ones licenced with total investment capital of more than US$1.34billion, up 250% compared to the same period last year or 96% of the year’s plan. Thus, the whole province has to date drawn 2,892 FDI projects with total registered capital of more than US$27.1billion. Especially, there has been better improvement on the investment climate of the province towards sustainable development. Investors are more interest in the province’s strong fields like electricity, electronics, mechanism, chemicals…while the number of foreign investors arriving in Binh Duong to learn about the local investment climate is increasing.

Also in this stage, province-based IPs attracted 31 newly-registered FDI projects worth US$777million and 12 extra-ones with US$535.8million. Areas outside the IPs also lured 12 newly-registered FDI projects totaling US$16.3million and 6 extra-ones with US$15million.

The province’s processing and manufacturing industries continued being attractive to foreign investors with 36 newly-registered projects with total newly granted and additional capital of more than US$1.05billion; services with 7 newly-registered projects having total newly granted and additional capital of US$290.8million.

Further making efforts in investment attraction

In the first three months of 2017, the province completed 96% of the year’s plan on investment attraction. This is actually a good sign for the province. But, according to Mr.Liem, the province must make more efforts in this field at the local demand for development.

Speaking at the ceremony, he said that FDI projects granted investment licences in this stage were the concrete demonstration of investors’ truth and commitment on long-term attachment with the province while expressing the attention and responsibility of provincial leaders for the business community. On behalf of provincial leaders, he acknowledged and thanked investors for selecting Binh Duong for their production and business.

For Binh Duong further being a reliable address, an attractive destination for investors, provincial leaders will opportunely and effectively carry out policies on socio-economic development and international economic integration; mobilize all resources to perfect technical infrastructure facilities. The province will also continue improving the local investment climate, boost administrative reform, enhance provincial-level competiveness; flexibly take solutions to remove enterprises’ difficulties, queries, facilitating their production and business…

The province has always been aware of the importance of the business community, significantly contributing to the local socio-economic development. Hence, provincial leaders have always listened to sincere suggestions by industries’ associations, business associations as well as investors’ aspirations for appropriate solutions in order to improve the local investment climate. Provincial leaders also pledged that they will always accompany businesses.
