Binh Duong Customs: Achievements on development

Authorized by State’s President, Deputy Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem awarded First Rank Labor Decoration to model cadres of Binh Duong Customs which was established with initial name of Song Be Customs under Decision No. 102/QD-TCHQ dated September 05, 1991.On its first days of establishments, Song Be Customs had only 26 payroll employees and 6 sub-units of General Profession Office, Administrative Organization Office, Accounting Group, Customs Control Team, Hoa Lu port of entry customs, and Hoang Dieu port of entry customs.The major tasks of the then Song Be Customs were to process importing and exporting procedures for the goods of provincial stronghold including rubber latex, cashew, black pepper, pottery, lacquer, artistic and sculpture works in a bid to control and prevent smuggling along the 240-km-long border line with Cambodia.Of the tender ageIn 1992, Song Be Customs attracted 27 enterprises coming for customs procedures with total revenue of USD 24.6 million and incurred import-export tax of VND 4.1 billion. Authorized by the State’s President, Deputy Chair of Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem awards First Rank Labor Decoration to model cadres and officers of Binh Duong Customs By the end of 2012 or after more than 20 years of establishment and development, Binh Duong Customs have fulfilled procedures for over 3,000 enterprises with total revenue of USD 24 billion and incurred budget collection of over VND 7,600 billion.Binh Duong Customs has been refining its organizational structure of 17 sub-units supplied with highly qualified staffs to meet the demand of reforms and modernization of the sector and units in the current stage as well as in the strategic targets until 2020..To be come labor heroThe prominent and best achievement of Binh Duong Customs was administrative procedure reforms in the manner of supporting enterprises and supplying the committed client service declaration under the motto of “professional, transparent, effective”Majority of professional procedures of Binh Duong Customs have been supported by computers with 100% of declaration made remotely through the internet.Binh Duong Customs is making efforts to become one of the leading departments in operation reforms and modernization of Vietnam Customs to be comparable to regional and world enterprises from 2015 to 2020.During its course of operation, Binh Duong Customs has stayed close to the targets and fulfilled all the assignments to gain year on year achievements and awards by Ministry of Finance, Provincial People’s Committee and General Department of Customs.At its best, Binh Duong Customs was honored with First, Second, and Third Rank Labor Decorations of the State’s President during its more than 20 years of legacy.Reported by Duy Chi – Xuan Anh – Translated by Vi Bao
