Binh Duong Customs: Be prepared for inspection of goods by container scanner
Mr. Duong Hong Hanh, Deputy Director of the Binh Duong Department of Customs informed that the container scanners offered by the General Department of Customs has been just moved to and preserved at Binh Duong Department of Customs. Binh Duong Department of Customs has completed work such as: preparation for commissioning and operating the scanner as well as the work of customs officials, arrangement of the container scanner set, and construction of guidance to scan the actual goods. The container scanner was sponsored by the General Department of Customs at about USD 6 million, using X-ray screening in the inspection process which will significantly shorten the time to examine the goods and facilitate business customs clearance. At the same time, the scanner will minimize fraud in the import and export of goods. It is expected that by Nov-2012, after receiving the formal decision from the General Department of Customs, the officials in Binh Duong will put the scanner into operation.
