In 2017, the number of newly-registered businesses and amount of capital continued reaching rapid growth. Business scopes were also shifted in line with the province’s investment attraction policy.
Registered capital up 45.6%
Source from provincial Department of Planning and Investment, as of November 27, the whole province had additional 5,114 newly-established businesses with total registered capital of more than VND27.09trillion, up 17.1% in number of businesses and 45.6% in amount of capital compared to 2016. So far, the whole province has had more than 30,710 businesses with total registered capital of around VND236trillion.

The province has till now reached 76% of number of businesses and more than 94% of amount of capital of the local plan on socio-economic development for the period of 2016-2020. As planned, till 2020, the whole province will be home to 35,000-40,000 businesses with total registered capital of around VND248trillion. In 2017, localities with the increase of number of newly-established businesses compared to 2016 include TDM city (up 30.59%), Bau Bang district (up 23.44%), Tan Uyen town (up 20.81%), Thuan An town (up 19.49%), Di An town (up 18.39%) and Ben Cat town (up 8.12%).
Strengthening administrative reform
According to the inspection result of the Ministry of Planning and Investment’s inspection delegation, the Business Registration Division’s time of dealing with documents under provincial Department of Planning and Investment is 1.64 days, less than the regulated time. In 2017, the Department also made online business registration procedures for 4,952 businesses, 43 times higher than 2016.
However, the province has faced shortcomings in reforming administrative procedures pertaining to developing businesses. Nguyen Thanh Truc, Director of provincial Department of Planning and Investment said that in 2018, the Department will continue carrying out a commitment on setting up a favorable investment climate for businesses between provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
