After 40 yeas of Southern liberation and national unification, nearly 20 years of renewal and more than 18 years of re-establishment, Binh Duong has strongly emerged and become an overall developing locality of socio-economy. This success is an important premise to carry out crucial goals, taking Binh Duong into a central industrial city prior to 2020.

Promoting achievement of Song Be province of yore, Binh Duong provincial party committee, authority and people effectively implemented process of renewal. With determination of overcoming difficulties and challenges as well as mobilizing general strength for development, Binh Duong has created breakthrough of vision and orientation. As such, the provincial socio-economy has quite changed, becoming an industrial province leading in the country. Gaining results of today is thanks to industrial infrastructure facility in attachment to urbanization focused by local authority. The local administration now has 28 industrial parks and 8 industrial compounds with the total area of over 1,000ha, from 6 industrial parks covering 600ha in 1997.
Thanks to advanced infrastructure, Binh Duong has thus far attracted more than 18,000 domestic enterprises with the total registered capital of VND136,510bn and 2,440 ones with the capital of more than US$20.8bn.
With advantaged environment in investment and perfect infrastructure plus effort of local administration, Binh Duong has been considered as a priority destination. Park Jin Ku, chairman of Korea Business Association in Binh Duong said “Binh Duong’s investment environment is very well, especially advanced infrastructure facility and great care of local leaders. Therefore, FDI source poured into Binh Duong has increased sharply”.
Model of renewal thinking
Possible speaking, Binh Duong is the vanguard province in investment attraction. In its orientation of economic development, Binh Duong has made up its philosophy in conformity with local conditions by valued chains of industry-service-urban and hi-tech agricultural production. With this way, Binh Duong has developed marvelously with economic goals under strong growth compared with the first days of re-establishment.
Specifically, till the end of 2014, the locality won VND187,531bn in industrial production value reached, a 46.9 fold increase; VND103,493bn in retail and service business, a 34 fold rise; US$17.74bn in export revenue, a 49 fold surge; VND32,000bn in budget collection, a 39.2 fold increase; 82% in urbanization rates, a 3.4 time rise from 1997.
On the days of this month, Binh Duong people feel proud of local glorious history made during the resistance war. Impact of industry has changed local image, contributing to gain an average income of VND61.2mn per capita in 2014.
Many said that Binh Duong is exemplary model of renewal, strategic vision, motivation, creation. From a difficult province of economy, Binh Duong has made up breakthrough in capital and talent attraction and combined maximum its advantaged position of the Southern key economic zone.
