Right after the resolution issued, the provincial People’s Committee has launched and mapped out concrete action plans to take the resolution go into reality.
Accordingly, the committee asked the provincial Construction Department to set out a breakthrough program on urban development for the 2011-2015 period and till 2020.
The breakthrough program is to build Binh Duong urban area into a developing pole in the Southern key economic area. Till 2015, Thu Dau Mot town will basically reach 1st class urban standard and will be a provincial city whilst other localities of Thuan An and Di An will be 3rd class urban areas. Especially, key works for local socio-economic development in the 2011-2015 period have been discussed in detail.
To build and develop the set goals, Thu Dau Mot town People’s Committee chairman Nguyen Thanh Tai, said from now till 2015, the town determines to improve shortcomings to reach 1st class urban standard.
Initially, the town will focus on supervising progress of residential and urban projects and revoking unfeasible projects as well as make a breakthrough for urban rejuvenation.
In addition, the town will support wards and communes to perfect rural routes and urban rejuvenation. At present, the town has issued a plan on rural traffic and urban rejuvenation for the 2011-2012 period and strived to concrete all rural routes by the end of 2012.
