On July 22, Nguyen Loc Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, had a meeting and worked with Saotome Jun, Director of Southeast Asia Department of JICA head office; and Masuda Chikahiro, Chief Representative of JICA Branch Office in Ho Chi Minh City, visited to learn about investment in projects of connected transport infrastructure in Binh Duong.
At the meeting, Nguyen Loc Ha said that with the ODA funding of JICA, Binh Duong had invested in two projects of: Improving the water environment of Nam Binh Duong phase 1 and phase 2, solving the problem of drainage and water treatment in Thu Dau Mot city and Thuan An City. To make the most of the advantages of regional linkages, Binh Duong has been executing transport infrastructure projects connecting Long Thanh International Airport in Dong Nai province, Cai Mep seaport in Ba Ria – Vung Tau province, highway connects with Binh Phuoc province...
To facilitate logistics development from industrial parks to airports and seaports, urban projects in Binh Duong New City researched and developed by Tokyu Group, Binh Duong province proposed the Japanese Government and JICA to pay attention to, support ODA, and accelerate the implementation of three projects with a total loan of ¥543 billion, including: Project of urban railway line No. 01 in Binh Duong province connects with urban railway line No. 1 Ho Chi Minh City from Suoi Tien terminus to Binh Duong New City; provincial public transport infrastructure renovation project, and Bau Bang – Thi Vai – Cai Mep industrial railway project 127.45km.

Saotome Jun expressed his impression on the development of Binh Duong in recent years. He also endorsed the proposals and recommendations of Binh Duong province on transport and urban infrastructure development projects in the province. In the coming time, JICA will continue to facilitate investment projects in Binh Duong to facilitate the development of socio-economic development in the coming period. Depending on each project, Saotome Jun said JICA would coordinate with Binh Duong to organize specific working sessions to develop plans for the project implementation as soon as possible.
