Provincial leaders, on December 18, received a delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MoARD), led by Cao Duc Phat, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Reportedly, agriculture now accounts for around 3% of the province’s economic structure with total value of products estimated at VND3trillion. The province has so far reached a robust growth in the models of urban agriculture and hi-tech agriculture in association with processing industry. Addressing the reception, Mr.Phat said that Binh Duong was a model of agricultural development. The MoARD would carefully research effective ways in agricultural development of the province. Also according to him, Binh Duong will be among five localities selected by MoARD to develop pilot disease-free animal husbandry zones in the coming time.
Le Thanh Cung, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that the province was very interested in the MoARD’s proposal of developing disease-free animal husbandry zones. The province would soon map out a cooperation plan with relevant sides to well realize this task in a bid to enhance the position of the local animal husbandry sector.
