Enterprises in Binh Duong pay attention to automation in production.
After 30 years of renewal, Binh Duong has reached a strong and rapid development, contributing to implementing industrialization and modernization and socio-economic development of the country. From an agricultural province, after nearly 30 years of implementing renewal on the 6th national party congress and 17 years of re-estabishment, Binh Duong has become an industrial province under strong development in the Southern key economic zone.
Breakthrough to reach success
Over the past years, Binh Duong has won a fair economic growth compared with other localities with a 13% increase in economic growth in the past year and rate of industry, service and agriculture at 60.8%, 36.4% and 3%, respectively. Average income increased from VND6mil per capita per year in 1984 to VND61.2mil in 2014, 1.5 times higher than the country’s average income.
Positive change of Binh Duong is the result of industrialization and modernization. The provincial administration has set out instructions of spurring industrialization and modernization and urbanization synchronously and firmly. At the 6th provincial party congress, the local administration set out instruction of industrial development on hi-tech, clean industry. Along with developing industrial parks, new urban areas, development of socio-economic infrastructure system has been formed up and focused on, meeting demand on economic growth. The instruction and view has been carried out during the local process of development.
In addition, the 9th provincial party congress’ Resolution pointed out Binh Duong’s orientation and development of continuing to renovate all areas strongly and overall, focusing on rapid and sustainable development of economy. Moreover, local administration concentrates on transferring of economic and labor structure in attachment to service-industrial development and urbanization. Based on the overall planning of Binh Duong socio-economic growth till 2020 and vision 2025 ratified by the Government, the local administration targets to become an industrial province prior to 2020 and the first class urban area and central city by 2020.
Initial success creates breakthrough for the locality to develop rapidly and effectively. Till the end of 2014, the entire province had 29 industrial parks covering an area of nearly 10,000ha and 8 industrial compounds on the area of about 600ha. The provincial leaders have actively set out many measures to attract domestic and foreign investment projects. Until now, the locality has absorbed 17,266 domestic projects, capitalized at VND129,498bil and 2,449 foreign projects worth US$20.7bil as well as focused on developing high valued and tech-science fields, contributing to accelerate the local process of industrialization and modernization and urbanization.
With urban development, the local administration set a common planning for Binh Duong urban area till 2030 and vision till 2050 by important projects such as Binh Duong industry-service-urban area covering the total area of 4,196ha, key traffic roads and among others.
Until now, Binh Duong has changed rapidly, significantly improving local resident’s life. Policies of social welfare have been implemented well while life of privileged families has been also paid much attention by local authority. Additionally, the local administration has mobilized sources to join in poverty reduction, job placement, education and training, healthcare and so on. After 30 years of renewal, under leadership of the Party and motivation of local socio-economic growth, Binh Duong has really created breakthrough changes of industrial and urban development.
Looking back the process of development, to draw experiences and assess achievements and shortcomings rightly, it is essential to orientate new development process for the future. (to be continued)
