Twenty years ago, Binh Duong Province was purely an agricultural province of poverty. After the split, industrial development in Binh Duong Province was weak without anything notable of infrastructures. Thus, it was put that Binh Duong started in the lowest point to outreach and become the major industrial zone of the nation.

Within expectation of experts, industrial development in Binh Duong Province has in 2017 continued as an important role in the face of adverse impacts on local enterprises which have been maintaining production and business operation in relatively high growth rate, active trade promotion, and synchronized measures of promoting production and market development. Besides, the enterprises have proactively constructed their production plans by identifying the major productions to increase production masses and raw materials for production.
In the first 6 months of the year, industrial development in Binh Duong Province has been stable at 8.53% growth year on year which is much higher than the 6% growth rate nationwide. Twenty four out of twenty eight industrial products have been remarkably surged year on year including 14 groups of more than 10% of growth. Processing industries have remarkably grown by 8.58% which is 10.8% in electricity production and distribution. Some commodity industries have grown higher year on year including metal production at 14.96%, molding products at 13.68%, electric appliances at 12.66%, electronic products at 17.05%, and leather production at 15.11%. This signaled the most sanguine industrial development in Binh Duong Province for the time to come.
Nguyen Van Huu, the Deputy Director of Department of Industry and Trade asserted that the 4th rank of industrial production of Binh Duong Province is remarkable as the province has been focusing on industrial development of high-tech and lean workmanship.
Non-stop development
For years, Binh Duong Provincial authority has gradually selected and called for development of high-tech projects, especially those projects oriented to development of industry, urban areas, and high quality services. The pour of capital resources including domestic investment and FDI to Binh Duong Province evidenced the strength of industrial development promoting local development of urban areas, services, and trade. The products have been diversified and plenty in terms of models and widespread consumption in domestic and foreign markets.
Communist Party of Vietnam aims for making Vietnam a basic industrial nation by its economic development strategies which have been learned by Binh Duong Provincial authority in its promotion of industrial development rate and the target by 2020 to become a major industrial zone of national and sectional production qualifications to compete in domestic, regional and world markets.
To achieve the targets, Binh Duong Provincial authority shall prioritize development of valuable environment-friendly and energy-saving development of industry to gradually elevate localization of products and mitigate use of natural resources and manual workmanship. Auxiliary industries have also been focused on to facilitate investment invitation and expansion of production and business operations.
Good growth foundation has been established to achieve outstanding outcomes of industrial development in Binh Duong Province to be worthy of locomotive economic force for urban, service, and trade development. Tran Thanh Liem, the Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee cum Chair of Provincial People’s Committee informed of the project of restructuring industrial development as well as plans for lean industrial production. Besides, local producers have made effectively use of energy and material resources to protect and improve environment quality and assure sustainable development.
The local authority shall prioritize development of auxiliary industries, leading and creation industries to supply raw materials and improve localization of industrial products. Besides, Binh Duong Provincial authority shall also construct plans to gradually transform industrial parks and clusters in its South to match urban development planning. The authority shall especially focus on roadmap of developing industrial parks approved by the Prime Minister.
