The Provincial Farmers' Association has just coordinated with the People's Committee of Bac Tan Uyen district to organize a project review of "Farmers' participation in the collection of bottles and packaging of plant protection chemicals" at Hieu Liem commune in Bac Tan Uyen district.
Implementing the project's items in the past 4 months, the Association cooperated with the locality to organize a training conference on environmental protection, the harmful effects of solid, domestic, and packaging waste incurred by plant protection chemicals in agricultural production for the environment and human health, and the propaganda on radio of 12 articles on environmental protection. The project has offered 20 waste tanks and 10 containers for household waste including 1,000 plastic bags to contain bottles and residue of pesticides etc.
During the implementation of the project, the Association of Farmers of Hieu Liem commune propagated and mobilized its members and local farmers to regularly clean their houses and farms while participating in the movement of general sanitation of village roads and alleys to make environment green, clean, and beautiful; packaging after use shall be collected and discarded to the right places to ensure rural environmental sanitation.
