Binh Duong Sea Port Customs Branch is located right on the National Highway No.1 linking with provinces of Central Highlands, Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Southwestern province and HCMC. Other important traffic axis will be opened in early 2014. It will be My Phuoc-Tan Van route with the scale of 6 lanes, helping link the sea port with Binh Duong’s northern industrial parks such as My Phuoc 1,2,3,4, VSIP II, Bau Bang, Rach Bap, Northwestern Cu Chi and other industrial parks of provinces of Long An, Binh Phuoc and Tay Ninh.
In addition, My Phuoc-Tan Van route linking with belt road 4 of Binh Duong industry-service-urban complex occupying the area of nearly 4,200ha will connect the sea port customs branch with industrial parks of Song Than 1, 2, Tan Dong Hiep, Binh Duong, Dong An and Dong Nai province’s other industrial parks of Bien Hoa 1, Bien Hoa 2, Amata and so on.
Goods transport and traveling of containers from the sea port customs branch to other places and vice versa are very advantaged. Additionally, Binh Duong is the gateway linking with HCMC and has blood routes such as National Highway No.13 and No.14, Ho Chi Minh road, TransAsia road and many more.
The approved project of building overpass bridge at Tan Van traffic circle will help reduce pressure and develop road traffic network, facilitating goods transport and developing the Southern key economic zone.
In terms of waterway traffic system, Binh Duong Sea Port Customs Branch is located at Sai Gon River T-junction, the biggest river in the Southeastern region. In addition, Binh Duong Sea Port Customs Branch connected with the 53ha Thanh Phuoc port will help enterprises transport goods between these two ports.
Furthermore, river routes at the Binh Duong Sea Port Customs Branch are connected with the Southwestern provinces, bringing advantages for transporting commodities from Binh Duong to Southwestern provinces and Cambodia border. Binh Duong Sea Port Customs Branch’s another competitive advantage lies in short distance between the port and HCMC sea ports and Cai Mep and Thi Vai ports.

With the mentioned advantages plus positive operation of import and export in the period of 2013-2015, vision 2020, it is necessary to upgrade Customs Procedure Team into Binh Duong Sea Port Customs Branch in conformity with real situation and developing trend of Binh Duong and the Southern key economic zone.
Binh Duong Sea Port Customs Branch’s operation will facilitate businesses’ export and import, helping reduce pressure for the provincial and municipal sea ports in the Southeastern region and HCMC, spurring trade and economic development, increasing budget collection and contributing to rise local socio-economic growth.
Binh Duong has presently exploited 28 industrial parks with the total area of more than 9,000ha and 8 industrial compounds with over 800ha. Therefore, demand on transport, exchange and making procedure of changing gateway and goods import and export is very huge. With system of road and waterway and the upcoming railway network, distance of goods transport between Binh Duong and other provinces will be more shrunk. Binh Duong Sea Port Customs Branch will become an important bridge to transport commodities, helping enterprises economize time, cost and increase competitive edge.
Binh Duong Sea Port Customs Branch is under Binh Duong provincial Customs Bureau and implements duties and rights entrusted by the State. The Bureau initially had only 20 people, till 2015 the bureau will have more 40 people.
