On the afternoon of January 22, Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Deputy Permanent Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee for the Smart City Project in Binh Duong, chaired a meeting of the steering committee on the results of implementing the project in 2023 and proposed directions for implementation in 2024.
According to the report of the Department of Science and Technology, the outstanding result in implementing the Smart City project in 2023 is that Binh Duong province has been honored by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) with the highest award of the year: Top 1 ICF 2023 for exemplary smart development strategy community. In 2024, the province continues to implement foundational projects, with a focus on innovation and attracting high technology, building a new industrial ecosystem, aiming for a green economy, a digital economy, and the 4.0 transformation. The province also leverages its international network on smart cities; develops a new phase plan for smart city communication, especially the ICF Top 1 communication plan.
At the meeting, Mr. Mai Hung Dung affirmed that in 2023, the implementation of the Binh Duong smart city project has achieved many important results, creating a reputation internationally; at the same time, he proposed that relevant departments and agencies continue to coordinate well in implementing the project to achieve the objectives and effectiveness of the project in the future. Mr. Mai Hung Dung also requested the Steering Committee to review and supplement the individuals and collectives who have performed well in the project in order to reward them in a timely manner.
