Yesterday (April 27), the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the U.S Agency for International Development (USAID) organized the announcement of the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) 2021.
This 17th announcement since 2005 has recorded Binh Duong's steady "performance" when ranking sixth with 69.61 points. Thus, after many efforts, Binh Duong is still a locality in the top 10 localities in terms of the PCI for 2 consecutive years and ranking first in the PCI in the Southeastern region for 4 consecutive years.
In 2021, although being heavily affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, with the efforts by the local political system, people and business community, Binh Duong focused on effectively and drastically coping with the pandemic for economic recovery and development in the "new normal" state. The result of the PCI in 2021 acknowledged the high efforts by the province. Over the past time, Binh Duong was evaluated by the business community as one of Vietnam’s localities with the best investment climate and achieved success in FDI attraction. Binh Duong ranked second in FDI attraction, only after Ho Chi Minh city. To get this impressive result, for many years, Binh Duong paid great attention to researching in order to supplement mechanisms and policies for investment attraction; focused on well implementing solutions to support enterprises in production and business activities. Along with improving the quality of human resources and administration, the province also stepped up administrative reform, consolidated the local apparatus, improved departments, sectors and localities’ State management effectiveness and efficiency. Along with actively promoting investment, calling for large corporations and enterprises to invest, Binh Duong attached special importance to on-site investment promotion so that enterprises could trust in the province to raise capital and expand production for projects operating.
With results done, in the coming time, provincial leaders and functional sectors will further strengthen the task of meeting enterprises, especially domestic and foreign business associations; improve the quality of administration, administrative reform; enhance the transparency of the investment climate, improve business support services, increase the quality of labor training and further facilitate the implementation of procedures asking for business licenses, especially groups of procedures on land, tax, social insurance, market management, traffic and construction..., gradually raising scores, striving to become one of the country’s leading localities in the PCI.
