Binh Duong to enhace friendship and cooperation with Yamaguchi Prefecture

* Online conference to promote Japanese investments

In the afternoon of November 30, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi, Member of the CPV Central Committee, Secretary of Binh Duong provincial Party Committee, Head of the provincial National Assembly Delegation attended an online seminar to discuss the friendly cooperation relationship between Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi Prefecture of Japan. At the Japanese connection point was Mr. Muraoka Tsugumasa, Governor of Yamaguchi Prefecture, heads of councils and several agencies of Yamaguchi Prefecture.

Since the establishment of friendly cooperation in 2014, Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi province have actively implemented exchange activities to strengthen friendship and expand economic cooperation, trade promotion, and investment in the fields of education and training and culture among others. Binh Duong has also actively expanded bilateral and multilateral cooperation in many fields. Up to now, Binh Duong province has established bilateral cooperation relationships with 10 foreign provinces and cities and is an official member and reliable partner of 4 multilateral international cooperation organizations.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi hoped that in 2022 and the following years, Binh Duong province would continue to receive active cooperation from the Yamaguchi. Binh Duong wished to continue to strengthen extensive cooperation with Yamaguchi Prefecture in the fields of science and technology development, education - training, health care, physical training and sports, etc. in a bid to contribute to the socio-economic development of the two localities.

* At noon on the same day, the provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Yamaguchi Prefecture to organize an online conference to promote Japanese investments. Attending at Binh Duong connection point was Mr. Mai Hung Dung, Standing Member of the provincial Party Committee, Standing Deputy Chairman of the provincial People's Committee. At the Japanese connection point was Mr. Tsugumasa Muraoka, Governor of Yamaguchi Prefecture, Consulate General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh city, representative of Japan trade promotion organization – JETRO, some enterprises that have invested in Vietnam and 100 other Japanese enterprises.

At the conference, representatives of relevant departments and branches answered concerns and questions about issues of interest to Japanese investors such as high technology, financial services, logistics, supporting industries, and high-tech agriculture. Investors are also very interested in the Science and Technology Industrial Park to meet the requirements of the 4th Industrial revolution.

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Mai Hung Dung emphasized that Vietnam in general and Binh Duong province in particular always prioritize FDI projects with advanced, new, modern technology and highly added value connected to form a global supplying chain. Binh Duong is completing a new city - the province's political, economic and cultural center to become an ideal destination for investors to work and live.
