At the reception, Mr. Long said that China is currently the third largest export market and the largest import market for Vietnam's leather and footwear industry. Currently, Guangdong has a center for developing and supplying raw materials for the footwear industry, attracting many Vietnamese businesses for trade activities.
Mr. Long said that Binh Duong has the most favorable conditions to invest in a material supply center for the footwear industry, serving production while developing trade activities in the coming time, thereby improving product quality and ensuring the supply of raw materials as well as making technology transfer towards green and sustainable development.
Speaking at the reception, Mr. Minh said that Binh Duong is one of the country’s largest industrial centers, owning many industrial parks with a synchronous and modern infrastructure system. In addition, the province is investing in developing technical infrastructure and traffic with regional connectivity, forming up a new generation industrial belt along the belt road 4 of Ho Chi Minh city, Ho Chi Minh - Chon Thanh expressway, Ho Chi Minh road at the section through Binh Phuoc province - Binh Duong - Tay Ninh - Long An, facilitating circulation and trade connection. Currently, China ranks first among 65 countries and territories with foreign investment projects in Binh Duong, with 1,661 projects capitalized at nearly US$ 9.4 billion.
Provincial People's Committee Chairman welcomed a proposal on building a center developing and supplying raw materials for the footwear industry in Binh Duong while committing to creating favorable conditions for enterprises and associations to implement the quickly and effectively.
