Construction of Binh Duong new city aims to create a motivation for the province to get a faster and more sustainable economy in the coming time.
Since its reestablishment of January 1997, Binh Duong has reaped great growth. The province has bent on infrastructure development, especially attached special importance to fostering industrial parks as a key element for industrial development. The whole province is now home to 28 industrial parks and 8 industrial compounds with 10,000 hectares in total. Among them, there are many with international standards, absorbing great corporations. Noticeably, the province has built an industry-service and urban complex of 4,196 hectares with many big works, including provincial Integrated Administration Center, industrial parks, schools, parks…
So far, Binh Duong has absorbed nearly 16,490 domestic enterprises with a total registered capital of VND125trillion and 2,330 FDI ones capitalized at nearly US$20bln from 40 countries and territories in the world. They focus on industries of electricity, electronics, mechanism, food processing, garment, home decoration…Especially, the province has recently absorbed many enterprises in the fields of trade-services and real estate.
The province’s economic structure has shifted towards the growth of industry and services. As of late 2013, the proportion of industrial manufacture in the local economic structure was 61.3%; services, 35.3% and agricultural production, 3.4%. Industrial production value reached VND162.177trillion. Export turnover obtained more than US$14.44bln. The province also lured more than US$1.4bln in FDI capital, gained VND29trillion in State budget collection…Over the past seven months, the province’s economy continued reaching a positive growth with VND98.003trillion in industrial production value, more than US$8bln in export turnover, VND18trillion in State budget collection, US$1.1bln in FDI attraction…
Strength from consensus
Thanks to upholding achievements from Song Be province, Binh Duong has reaped current achievements. The local Party, government and people have further implemented the renewal cause, upheld potentials and well tapped all resources from economic parts, creating a favorable investment climate to absorb more investors. In addition, the province has well realized a policy of "laying red carpet for investors”, paid attention to training human resources, raising people’s intellectual standards…
Noticeably, Binh Duong’s people have made contributions to the local development. The local administration and people have reached a consensus in infrastructure construction, contributing to creating exploits in the local economic development. The rate of compensation and site clearance at industrial parks has so far got 98% of total area.
In order to successfully realize the local targets on economic development in the following years, Binh Duong has put forward measures, including further perfecting economic infrastructure; forming up a string of industrial parks; promoting urban, residential zones and necessary socio-economic infrastructure systems for the whole region…, contributing to speeding up the local modernization and industrialization process.
