Keeping promises
In 2012, Biwase launched 2 large projects including South Binh Duong water environment improvement project and Compost Plant project. The both projects are built on donation from ODA capital.
Korea’s Kolon E&C Co.Ltd. is the contractor and Vietnam’s Construction JSC No. 5 is the subcontractor of the project of South Binh Duong water environment improvement invested by Biwase. The project’s waste treatment plant has been located at quarter 6, Phu Tho ward, Thu Dau Mot city. The project is expectedly to complete by the end of the 1st quarter of 2013.
Compared with agreement signed between Vietnamese and Japanese governments, the project has been completed 3 years ahead of schedule. At this time, the investor and related units have hastened asphalt work to facilitate people’s traveling. The work will be finalized prior to the Lunar New Year 2013.
In addition, Biwase’s leaders have hastened completion of the construction of compost plant in a bid to convert tones of waste into compost.
Nguyen Van Thien, director of Biwase stressed “In one year we launched and completed 2 big projects with the state-of-the-art technology. This is our huge efforts, showing up strategic outlook and well preparation of the provincial leaders and assistance of local agencies. Thus, many inspection delegations set out positive assessments of these projects. Road surface repayment for people’s traveling has been implemented as committed, winning support from local people. Especially, during implementation of these projects, the investor managed to seek out new technologies to save time and cost for the sake of soon completion, enhancing Binh Duong’s prestige for international sponsors”.
Tasks finalized
With efforts of approaching clients and expanding services, especially waste collection and treatment, the company in 2012 received and treated over 307,000 tons of waste, over 287,000 tons of which are from households and 8,777 tons from companies.
The capacity of consumed water in the past year reached over 56,000 cubic meters, a 32% increase from 2011 with 79,076 clients, 3,640 of whom are from companies, a 17.9% increase from the previous last year. Meanwhile, the rate of water loss declined 1.4% against the previous year. With the result, experts assessed Binh Duong as the locality leading the whole country in preventing water loss.
Therefore, the company reached VND608.2bil in revenue in 2012, a 27.1% increase from 2011 and won VND84.7bil in after-tax profit, accounting for 136% from 2011.
Apart from production and business, Biwase is a member of the provincial Committee for Flooding and Strom Control under adequate equipment of facilities and human resources.
In addition, the company repaired irrigation works with the total expense of VND3.15bil in the past year, winning 100% of its plan. The irrigation stations under the company’s management have been under dredge to offer water for 7,137ha.
Experienced lessons
To reach the above results, Biwase has implemented democratic regulations to win high achievements. The work of water loss control has been paid attention by the company’s directorate.
Moreover, the company has focused on manpower training and equipment improvement. Specifically, the company has cooperated with universities to hold university training classes for its employees in an attempt to overall enhance its efficiency and quality.
Di An Water Supply Factory director Tran Chien Cong, said “Thanks to well implementation of service and client care plus people’s awareness on using clean water instead of well water, the factory in 2012 developed more over 5,500 new clients. Promoting the done results, the factory in this year sets out goals to win a 15% increase of growth rate from 2012”.
