However, within 7 years, Thu Dau Mot city was granted a capital source worth thousands of billions of dong to hasten building progress of roads, streets, becoming a new urban area with full of vitality.
A new image
The common impression on traffic infrastructure facility of Binh Duong province lies in the state-of-the-art road system, connecting conveniently with neighboring localities. Thu Dau Mot city alone possesses a traffic land area of 1,507.23ha, accounting for 23% compared with the construction land area and main traffic density of 7km/km2, winning the standard of a modern urban area.
Obviously, we can realize a rapid change of Thu Dau Mot city during the past 7 years with wide, clean and green streets such as Le Hong Phong, Huynh Van Luy, 30-4 and so on. In addition, Thu Dau Mot city’s success lies in local leaders’ right care and investment in building an integrated administration center to satisfy people’s aspiration.
Nguyen Van Dau, chairman of Dinh Hoa ward People’s Committee said that Dinh Hoa ward in 2007 was a commune adjoining Thu Dau Mot city. After that, the provincial administration was interested in investing and building traffic infrastructure facilities in this ward for formative years. Therefore, tens of roads and streets under new building have made up a new image for this ward. Indeed, more than 9km of roads under timely investment has helped Dinh Hoa ward from a poor commune become one of wards with diversified traffic system.
Modernity
Nguyen Chi Bien in Phu Hoa ward, Thu Dau Mot city said “After graduated from university in 2007, I arrived in Thu Dau Mot city for a new life. Surprisedly, this city developed rapidly within several years with tens of roads under investment, offering favorable conditions for local residents”.
The entire Thu Dau Mot city now has 1,840 roads under management of provincial, municipal authorities. On the Decision No.893/QD-TTg dated June 11, 2014 on ratifying overall planning of Binh Duong provincial socio-economy till 2020 and vision to 2025, it is expected that construction and development of urban railway routes will be carried out to offer public passenger transport. Accordingly, metro routes will be divided into many ways from Thu Dau Mot hub to Binh Duong New city, Dau Tieng district.
As such, Thu Dau Mot city in the period of 2015-2020 and the 2020-2030 period will accelerate construction of traffic network and urban rejuvenation in service for local residents’ travelling and local common development.
Possibly speaking, since being recognized as the third class urban area, Thu Dau Mot city administration and people have made greater efforts to make up well-invested traffic infrastructure facility of today.
With such firm foundations of urban construction, the city will surely deserve a big urban city of the Southern region in particular and the country in general.
