Businesses actively do digital transformation, promote OCOP products widely

In recent times, with the attention and support of competent branches and levels, OCOP product owners (One Commune One Product Program) in the province have promoted the application of information technology and digital transformation to expand consumption markets and achieved positive results.

 Significant effect

Ms. Tang Thi Hang, Director of Hieu Hang Trading and Service Company Limited, located in An Long Commune, Phu Giao District, reported that in 2021, after receiving a three-star OCOP certification for their products, the company prioritized the use of information technology and digital transformation for product promotion and sales. They specifically introduced their bird's nest products onto e-commerce platforms such as Postmart, Lazada, Shopee, and Tiki, and also promoted them through social media networks. As a result, the company's products gained recognition among a wider customer base, leading to more convenient purchasing options and reduced costs associated with transportation, rental, and hiring sales staff.

Currently, the company collects about 15kg of raw bird's nests each month. With prices ranging from 20-22 million VND/kg, the company's annual revenue from raw bird's nests is about 3 billion VND. The company also provides stable jobs for 10 employees, with an average salary of about 10 million VND/person/month, along with other social welfare benefits.

Artichoke+ tea products, Artichoke+ herbal tea bags, and lingzhi mushroom tea of CVC Trading - Service - Production Company Limited (Tan Dinh Ward, Ben Cat City) are also recognized as three-star OCOP. The company actively applies information technology and digital transformation to product promotion and consumption. Mr. Tram Van Hue, Director of the company, said that to expand the market, the company develops online business channels through e-commerce and social networking platforms to promote products and reach a wide range of domestic and foreign consumers.

In addition to the two OCOP product entities mentioned earlier, many organizations in the province are also enhancing their use of information technology and digital transformation. A common approach among them is to actively create and develop channels on social media to promote and sell their products, as well as to list their products on e-commerce platforms....

Many support solutions

Recently, the Provincial People's Committee announced plans to assist agricultural production households in accessing e-commerce platforms. This initiative aims to promote the growth of the digital economy in agriculture and rural areas, allowing for better connection, promotion, introduction of products, and market expansion. So far, numerous agricultural products from the province have successfully engaged in transactions on e-commerce platforms.

Mr. Pham Van Bong, Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, said that immediately after implementing the OCOP Program, the department directed specialized agencies to coordinate in organizing training courses, fostering knowledge, and improving the quality of human resources to effectively carry out the program; including integrating the application of digital transformation into all stages from production to product promotion and consumption.

In line with the directives from the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Branch Office of Rural Development organized 19 conferences attended by 949 participants and conducted 38 training courses with 1,796 participants. These events focused on building and developing OCOP (One Commune One Product) products, as well as on applying information technology and facilitating digital transformation in the marketing of OCOP products.

Additionally, the office supported 34 entities by providing them with production management and traceability software accounts that utilize QR codes (FaceFarm) for one year. Furthermore, the office implemented the OCOP product scoring software in Bình Dương province, allowing related units to participate in the evaluation and classification of OCOP products in a coordinated manner from the commune level up to the provincial level.

In addition, the Branch Office of Rural Development coordinated with the Center for Trade Promotion and Industrial Development (under the Provincial Department of Industry and Trade) to regularly update products and information of entities on the provincial e-commerce platform (binhduongtrade.vn). Up to now, the department has updated 153 products of 84 entities certified with three-star and four-star OCOP, including updating product images, entity information, introduction, and assisting entities to register accounts on e-commerce platforms.

The application of information technology has led to a 15-20% increase in the value of OCOP products in the province through digital transformation. This significant outcome provides an important foundation for OCOP product owners to implement digital transformation across all stages of production and business, ultimately enhancing the overall value of these products in the province.

So far, most OCOP (One Commune One Product) product owners have been promoting and selling their products through social media and e-commerce platforms. Currently, there are over 2,000 organizations and individuals from the province registered on various e-commerce platforms. Additionally, 17,000 organizations and individuals involved in agricultural production have set up accounts to buy and sell on these platforms.
