Through export fairs, businesses are gaining a deeper understanding of the regulations governing export markets for sustainable development. The challenge for the business community lies in enhancing customer engagement, as well as improving capabilities for green production and green export.
Empowering the brand
The provinces and cities in the Southeast region hold a significant position in Vietnam's foreign economic relations and trade. Exports from this region constitute a substantial share of the nation's total exports and have successfully penetrated numerous international markets. In Binh Duong, during the first quarter of 2025, import and export activities demonstrated consistent growth, totaling nearly 8.6 billion USD, reflecting an 8.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Enterprises have exerted considerable effort to expand their market presence amid the current volatile global landscape.
Recently, the 2025 Vietnam Export Fair - HCM City Export 2025 was held in Ho Chi Minh City. The event featured booths showcasing representative products from various regions across the country, offering a diverse array of goods, including agricultural products, processed foods, handicrafts, and OCOP products (the "One Commune One Product" program), which included contributions from enterprises in Binh Duong.
Mr. Le Ba Linh, Director of Tu Bon Lacquerware Company Limited, stated that for enterprises, particularly those engaged in manufacturing and exporting, green transformation has become an essential prerequisite. Without the implementation of green transformation, a company's products will face challenges in gaining traction within the international market. Export businesses in Binh Duong are acutely aware that production transformation will establish a promising development trajectory for the business community. Consumers are increasingly prioritizing environmentally friendly products, while both domestic and international standards are imposing stricter requirements regarding emissions and sustainability. The earlier a business undergoes transformation, the greater its competitive advantage, enabling more effective access to the global market compared to those that hesitate.
“Our enterprise consistently recognizes that for a profession to evolve, it must align with market economic values, maintain a diverse clientele, reduce product costs for competitive advantage, and cultivate a skilled workforce that harmonizes tradition with modernity. In this environment, each business and production facility must adapt its manufacturing techniques, utilize innovative materials, diversify product designs, and implement technology to thrive while preserving traditional identity. In the present context, the creation of lacquer necessitates diligence and an understanding of market demands. Beyond passion, producing lacquer paintings requires market insight and mastery of the materials,” stated Mr. Le Ba Linh.
Extending towards the bigger arena
Mr. Tram Van Hue, Director of CVC Production Service Company Limited, stated that the company rigorously monitors the source of raw materials, including pesticide residues, pathogens, and bacteria. Should imported products be found to contain unauthorized preservatives or fungal infections, they will undergo comprehensive inspection and risk market exclusion. The company is committed to connecting and expanding both domestic and international markets while collaborating with partners to enhance exports. In addition to investing in product quality and establishing partnerships, a key strategy for market development involves increasing exports and integrating its products into the retail chains of major partners. Collaborating with leading global retail brands will create additional opportunities for businesses to deliver goods directly to consumers, thereby facilitating successful exports across various distribution channels.
“We came here not only to seek export partners but also to establish connections with domestic partners. By leveraging the strengths of each individual, we aim to create a cohesive entity that maximizes the potential of the export market for health-oriented green products,” stated Mr. Tram Van Hue.
Mrs. Nguyen Thuy Hang, Director of the Center for Trade Promotion and Industrial Development, stated that the industry and trade sector has consistently facilitated opportunities for businesses to engage in both domestic and international fairs. This initiative aims to enable businesses to leverage and effectively harness existing potentials, thereby generating new momentum for trade enhancement and improving competitiveness. Such efforts are intended to establish a robust foundation for the expansion of export markets in the near future.
Mr. Bui Nhu Viet, Director of Long Viet Wood Industry Joint Stock Company, emphasized that for enterprises in the wood industry, the imperative of greening production is increasingly pressing. Recently, wood production companies have been implementing a variety of solutions, including diversifying designs, expanding markets, and innovating technology. These enterprises have invested significantly in modern factories aligned with the principles of a circular economy. They view this as an essential trend to comply with the stringent standards of discerning foreign markets. The province's wood industry is collaborating and forming partnerships with regions known for large-scale wood production in the country to advance towards sustainable green production. Concurrently, industry enterprises are concentrating on investing in new machinery and technology, as well as establishing raw material areas that adhere to the criteria and rigorous forest protection standards of demanding markets.
Mrs. Nguyen Thuy Hang, Director of the Center for Trade Promotion and Industrial Development, stated that the 2025 Vietnam Export Fair - HCM City Export 2025 represents a significant opportunity and strategic initiative for businesses to enhance collaboration in trade and investment, particularly as Ho Chi Minh City, the nation's largest economic hub, boasts a modern logistics infrastructure and serves as a vital trade nexus with regional and global partners. The event is expected to attract a substantial number of domestic and international enterprises, facilitating access for participants to importers, distribution networks, and potential customer partnerships. Additionally, the series of programs coincides with a revitalized market following the Lunar New Year holiday of At Ty 2025, providing an advantageous moment for businesses to actively pursue sourcing opportunities, negotiate contracts, and broaden their trade distribution channels and partnerships. |
