In the afternoon of May 8, at Provincial Administrative Center, Tran Thanh Liem, the Deputy Chair of Provincial People’s Committee received and worked with Chang Jin Jae, the General Director of Celtrion Group – a pharmaceutical group from Korea (in photo).
Celtrion is currently the third leading pharmaceutical group in Korea, specializing in producing medicines by advance technologies. Celtrion has successfully produced 3 out of 6 medicines of hardest production in the world. To satisfy the demand for expanding production and business operations, Celtrion is considering for opening a new factory in Vietnam at the scale of 3 times larger than its factories in Korea, Europe and North America for the cost of about US$ 800 million to be capable of producing 360,000 liters of medical liquid a year. After investigating the investment environment of Vietnam, Chang Sin Jae highly appreciated Binh Duong as a suitable location for the group to locate its factory while hoping for active assistance of local leaders in terms of investment promotion for the project.
At the working session, Tran Thanh Liem highly appreciated the contributions of Korean FDI enterprises in the process of local socio-economic development. Korea is the top fourth of FDI investment into Binh Duong with nearly 700 enterprises of about 3 billion US dollars of total investment capital. For the time, enterprises have been supported by local leaders. As the matter of fact, Celtrion Group shall be facilitated for project implementation in BInh Duong.
