Over the past years, TDM city’s trade-service sector obtained robust growth. The city mobilized many resources for trade-service infrastructure development, step by step forming up a habit of civilized, modern and safe shopping among people.
Diverse trade-service forms
In recent years, TDM city has mobilized many resources to promote a system of markets, supermarkets, trade centers and convenient stores, meeting people’s demand for shopping.
Many distributors with renowned brand names together with mini-supermarkets, convenient stores, namely Vinmart+, Family mart…are now present in the city, contributing to satisfying people’s trend on safe and convenient consumption.
Currently, the city is home to 4 trade centers, 5 supermarkets, meeting the local demand for production and consumption. The city has also paid more attention to upgrading traditional markets and achieved positive results in socialization of building markets.
The city is coordinated with relevant units to research construction of the trade-service center project at the intersection conner between Binh Duong Avenue and Pham Ngoc Thach street. Along with My Phuoc-Tan Van expressway, the center will create a new stride on the local trade-service sector.
According to the city’s People’s Committee, the city’s sector of trade-services over the past time got thriving. So far, city-based markets, trade centers and supermarkets have been expanded very effectively with the annual growth of services at nearly 29%. The proportion of trade-services now accounts for 60.88% of the city’s economic structure.
Improving quality in new period
TDM city implemented many solutions on trade-service development over the past time. But, the sector has still faced some obstacles for change.
In the coming time, the city will continue realizing a target of promoting economic growth, creating a strong shift in economic structure with focus on trade-service development. The city will also further mobilize resources for the development of trade centers, supermarkets, entertainment services, wholesale markets…; encourage economic sectors to build and tap markets in operation in line with the local plan while rearranging business areas at markets for better development.
In addition, the city has researched and suggested functional agencies to issue preferential policies while creating favorable conditions for businesses to make investment in trade-services. The city will also continue creating advantageous conditions for the local households to get involved in this field; set up a new-style market control model; promote civilized market control models at society’s demand and in line with the scale of a first-class city.
As of now, the city has had 13 out of 15 markets under socialization. Among them, Thu Dau Mot market is seen as a central market of the city. The city is calling for investors to get involved in controlling and tapping this market. It now has around 3,600 individual business households with diverse business scopes, contributing to promoting the local trade-service sector.
