Over the past years, the province’s collective economy well expressed its role in the local new-style rural construction process. The province has continued paying more attention to this field for better development.
Development in right track
Since early this year, provincial Cooperative Alliance has coordinated with the People’s Committees of districts, towns and TDM city to set up 22 cooperatives or 137.5% of the year’s plan, with 165 members and total charter capital of more than VND16billion.

The whole province is now home to 51 cooperatives on transportation, 48 on agriculture, 13 on home industry, 10 on construction, 27 on trade-services, 18 on environment and 10 people’s credit fund. On average, each cooperative can reach the annual profit of VND360million. The average income of members and laborers is more than VND70million per person per year.
There are also 137 cooperative groups, up 26% compared to the same period last year, with 1,314 members and total capital of VND42.5billion. Most of them focus on cultivation and animal husbandry. They have actively carried out programs on loan support, sci-tech transfer…, contributing to increasing members’ income.
Developing collective economic models is one of effective models in upholding an abundant workforce in the rural region, generating jobs for people and increasing their income, thereby contributing to promoting the local new-style rural construction process.
Tran Xuan Tra, Chairman of Tru Van Tho communal People’s Committee said that new-style rural construction in association with collective economic development with focus on cooperatives is seen as a major strategy with decisive significance in fulfilling criteria of the local new-style rural construction program. Accordingly, the commune’s Party Committee decided to establish the local steering board of collective economic development with 13 members, aiming to enhancing the effectiveness of this economic field.
After grasping farmers’ aspirations and needs, the commune was proactive to guide them how to set up cooperatives, cooperative groups with appropriate models while creating a vital stride in the local new-style rural construction process as oriented. The commune now has 1 cooperative, 1 cooperative group and 3 linkage groups. They have worked very effectively…
Improving operational effectiveness
Le Thanh Son, Vice-Chairman of provincial Cooperative Alliance said that over the past time, province-based cooperatives were proactive to improve difficulties and sorted out appropriate ways for effective production-business.
Many cooperatives in the province have bravely developed additional services; made the linkage with enterprises to produce and consume agricultural products under the chain linkage model with hi-economic efficiency. They have also actively got involved in the new-style rural area building program; carried out services on agricultural development towards goods production, created favorable conditions for members to effectively develop models, contributing to improving the local rural image.
In the coming time, provincial Cooperative Alliance will further improve the operational effectiveness of collective economy; promote collective economy in association with the local new-style rural construction, socio-economic development programs; attach special importance to developing cooperative models under the trend of industrialization and modernization; replicate effective cooperative models, especially in the fields of market control, environmental hygiene, agriculture produce processing-consumption…
Speaking at a conference reviewing the 15-year implementation of the Resolution No.13-NQ/TW dated March 18, 2002 of the 9th Party Committee’s 5th session on further improving the effectiveness of collective economy, Nguyen Hoang Thao, Permanent Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee acknowledged and spoke highly of achievements done by the local collective economic sector. He also asked for relevant agencies to give timely support for cooperatives; widely multiplied cooperatives in association with value chains; strengthen the apparatus of the steering boards of collective economic development at all levels…for effective and sustainable support solutions, contributing to the local socio-economic development.
