Tan Uyen town has concentrated on changing cooperatives under the Cooperative Law 2012 for better development.
Bravely changing operational methods
Tan Uyen town is now home to 13 cooperatives on agriculture, trade-services, transportation-construction and home industry with 382 members and chartered capital of VND140.3billion. Among 96 managerial officials of the cooperatives, there are 55, 17, 2 and 22 with university, college, intermediate and primary levels, respectively.

Over the past eight months, the local cooperatives continued taking fruits in production and business with total revenue of VND67.3billion and average income of members of VND4million-VND5million per person per month. Under the Cooperative Law 2012, many cooperatives, namely Thanh Nam, Tan Nong Phat, Phuoc Thanh…, have worked very effectively.
This result came from the efforts by managing staff of the cooperatives, according to the town’s Steering Board of Collective Economic Renovation and Development.
Along with cooperatives, the town has obtained development in terms of the model of cooperative groups. Since early this year, the town has established additional 3 cooperative groups, bringing the total number of such groups so far to 20 with 187 members and chartered capital of VND4.3billion. The total revenue of the cooperative groups is estimated at VND3billion a year; the average income of members is VND5.7million per person per month.
Good thing of the new model
One of good things of the town’s new-style cooperatives under the Cooperative Law 2012 is to have qualified managing staff. They have managed the cooperatives in accordance with market-oriented economy for better results in production and business.
Nguyen Binh Phuoc, Deputy Director of provincial Department of Science and Technology (DoST) said that cooperatives need to be proactive to improve production lines, apply sci-tech advancements in order to save production costs and enhance product quality…
According to him, provincial DoST has always got ready to support cooperatives and their members in applying sci-tech advancements in production for better development.
