A leverage for economic growth
As one of regions having the most thriving industries in the country, Binh Duong achieved some important results, especially in planning and development of industrial zones. From the first industrial park, Song Than IP, currently the whole province has 29 IPs with a total planned area of over 12,670 hectares, the occupancy rate is over 70%. Currently, IPs have attracted 2,965 projects, including 2,309 FDI projects with a total registered capital of more than 24.3 billion USD and 656 domestic investment projects with total registered investment capital of nearly 76,608 billion. In particular, many IPs have become large trademarks, helping Binh Duong to attract large enterprises and multinational corporations coming to make investment. Most large investors in Binh Duong choose to stay in concentrated industrial zones.
It was the establishment of IPs that made the province's breakthrough in industrial production, creating a good foundation for trade, service and urban development. Industrial parks of the province with synchronous and modern infrastructure, convenient locations, adjacent to important traffic axes connecting to Ho Chi Minh City and surrounding regions, are very convenient for investors to develop production and business. Bui Minh Tri, Head of Provincial Industrial Parks' Management Board, said that since the re-establishment of Binh Duong province, the province has soon focused on developing a comprehensive transport system, infrastructure of industrial parks associated with urbanization, creating a driving force for socio-economic development.
To turn towards high quality
Located in the Southern key economic region, Binh Duong is becoming one of the top provinces in attracting investment into industrial zones. Up to now, VSIP have not only gained great economic efficiency but also created spillover effects and good resonance. This is a driving force to activate the space for comprehensive socio-economic development and infrastructure, not only for Binh Duong but also for neighboring localities in regional connection. From Binh Duong, the model of VSIP, after more than 24 years in operation, has now spread to all North - Central - South regions. VSIP has become a model of industrial park development, both at home and abroad. The effectiveness and spread of the VSIP brand name are also a vivid testament to a dynamic, innovative, integrated and sustainable Binh Duong.
Regarding investment attraction in the coming time, Binh Duong aims to attract science and technology professions that bring high surplus value. Scientific technological industrial park oriented by the province in the "Smart City" project shows this vision. In addition, for sustainable development, Binh Duong turns towards an infrastructure integration with Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces and cities in the region.
On the investor side, Adolfo Orive, Chairman and CEO of Tetra Pak Group, VSIP 2, said that Binh Duong has a good planning vision as the infrastructure is continuously built and increasingly completed; has an orientation to connection with the Southern key economic region through National Highway 13, My Phuoc - Tan Van Highway...
