During the past five years, provincial Farmers’ Association successfully realized patriotic emulation movements, contributing to promoting the local socio-economic development. The association’s programs were carried out in accordance with the spirit of the Prime Minister’s Decision No.673/QD-TTg on “Vietnam Farmers’ Association directly realizes and coordinate with relevant agencies to implement some socio-economic and cultural development projects in the 2011 and 2020 period” and provincial People’s Committee’s Decision No.46/2012/QD-UBND on “Measures, policies to promote agricultural development towards urban, hi-tech and eco-agricultural models in association with processing industry between 2012 and 2015”.

Farmers helping each other in economic development
Provincial Farmers’ Association and its affiliates promoted the emulation movement of “Good farmer in production and business” among the local farmers during the past five years. As a result, there were 129,650 of farming households winning the title of “good farmer in production and business”.
Provincial Farmers’ Association and its affiliates also teamed up with banks to provide the local farmers with loans for economic development. Under the emulation movement of “good farmer in production and business”, nearly VND1.097trillion was mobilized for 115,080 farming households to develop animal husbandry and cultivation models, helping them rise up out of poverty and get rich.
Many outstanding farmers have also been discovered through the emulation movement of “good farmer in production and business”. They include Le Quang Minh with the model of breeding chickens, dairy cows in combination with growing rubber trees in Dau Tieng district’s An Lap commune; Vo Tuan Kiet with the model of breeding discus fish in TDM city’s Chanh Nghia ward; Ngo Minh Hung with the model of planting pomelos under VietGap standards…
Contributing to new rural construction
Along with promoting the emulation movement of “good farmer in production and business”, provincial Farmers’ Associations and its affiliates mobilized officials and members to actively respond to the emulation movement of “The entire country joining hands in new rural construction” during the past five years. The province has so far had 11 communes meeting criteria of the new rural construction program and is striving to have additional 19 communes fulfilling criteria of the program.
As part of the new rural construction program, provincial Farmers’ Associations and its affiliates have signed 18 joint programs with relevant agencies to take part in the campaign of “The entire people consolidate to build up cultural lifestyle in residential areas”, contributing to building up urban civilized lifestyle and well realizing the local social welfare policies and national defence-security. On annual average, there were more than 95% of the local farming households winning the title of “cultural family” during the past five years.
Till now, many outstanding individuals have also been discovered through the new rural construction program. They are Doan Minh Chien who have applied advanced methods, saving production costs and actively contributing to various foundations; Nguyen Thi Kim Uyen, Dang Thanh Tuan who have actively donated land for making markets, roads, lighting systems…Noticeably, Nguyen Van Long in Bau Bang district’s Lai Uyen commune has made machines on sweeping leaves, putting down fertilizer and spraying pesticide for rubber trees.
In terms of national defence-security, there are now also many typical examples like Pham Ngoc Binh in Bau Bang district’s Lai Hung commune, Tran Huu Khai in Thuan An town’s Hung Dinh ward, Nguyen Van Ngan in Ben Cat town’s My Phuoc ward…
