A signing ceremony of cooperation agreement on smart city development between provincial People’s Committee and Vietnam Posts-Telecommunications Group (VNPT) was held at provincial Integrated Administration Center on the morning of April 4.

Attending the event were Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Dang Minh Hung, Vice-Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Vo Duc Thanh, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of provincial Military Command; Nguyen Hoang Thao, member of provincial Party Standing Committee, Director of provincial Police Agency; Pham Duc Long, General Director of VNPT together with representatives of VNPT’s Binh Duong branch.
Accordingly, VNPT will coordinate with provincial Steering Board of the Project on smart city development to set up an overall knowledge frame on smart city, ensuring that all solutions on smart city of information technology (IT) units at home and abroad are able to be implemented on it; put forward specific solutions on “Binh Duong smart city”; make planning for the local IT and telecommunications infrastructure system; team up with relevant units to research and develop solutions on IT and telecommunications for the project…
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Liem affirmed: This is an important event with contents in line with the orientations and goals of the “Binh Duong smart city” project. It brings basic advantages to the province in carrying provincial People’s Committee’s Decision No.3206/QD-UBND dated November 21, 2016 on approval of the “Binh Duong smart city” project; set up legal bases so that VNPT can join hands with the Steering Board of the project to build a basic knowledge frame and a IT and telecommunications infrastructure system with dimensional connectivity and synchrony; simultaneously assure that all solutions on IT for smart city of organizations, individuals at home and abroad to be able to work easily.
On this occasion, VNPT’s Binh Duong branch and TDM University also signed cooperation agreements on human resource training and supply; research and application on IT, communications and telecommunications.
