In reality, building material makers with the large scale and modern technology have not yet appeared much. Based on the overall planning of the Southeastern key economic zone’s socio-economic development, industry on building materials is one of industrial sectors with many advantages.
In Binh Duong province and the neighboring provinces, many infrastructure facility works have been under strong investments, creating a big demand on building materials. Therefore, requirements for the State management agencies and producers of building materials include sustainable and ecological development.
According to Phan Duc Nhan, vice director of the HCMC Construction Department, Binh Duong is now one of localities with many building material producers and is leading strongly in developing social infrastructure facilities and ratifies a planning on building material development till 2020. Therefore, this will be one of premise for the province and companies to link together for a sustainable development.
Over the past years, Binh Duong is one of provinces well carrying out ending of Hoffman brick kilns’ operation. This deed is suitable to the Government, Construction Ministry’s roadmap of developing unburnt building material sector as well as to the local work on urban development planning and environmental pollution control.

Many measures implemented
In order to spur linkage of building material development sustainbly, Binh Duong provincial authority has over the past years implemented many measures such as holding a seminar on producing and using unburnt building materials, cooperating with the local Construction Department and the HCMC Construction Department to hold a conference on sustainable building material development. Through this conference, enterprises involving in building materials exchanged experiences on production, management, development and usage of building materials as well as introduced products and modern technologies of producing building materials.
Also in the conference, Tran Tri Dung, vice head of the Industrial Management Office under the HCMC Department of Trade and Industry shared experiences on developing building materials and creating consumption market for building material sector, implemented preferential policies of investment and human resources attractions to build and develop structure of business and trade infrastructure of building material sector in conformity with production and consumption of every locality.
As for Binh Duong, the locality now bounds for becoming one of provinces exporting building materials. Therefore, the local administration has accelerated application of new and environmentally friendly materials as well as strengthens management and inspection on quality in a bid to raise quality of products.
The provincial People’s Committee vice chairman Tran Thanh Liem affirmed that aside from developing linkage chains of production and tech-scientific application into production for competition, Binh Duong is one of localities determining to change traditional production of building materials to modern production, eyeing export in an attempt to improve efficiency of using natural resources and re-using available material sources in the province.
