For the construction of smart city, Binh Duong has cooperated with many regions, cities, and corporations in the world that have experiences in smart city development. In particular, the cooperation between Becamex IDC and Taiwan Technological Industry Research Institute (ITRI) is a concrete step in the construction of smart city.

Cooperation for development
In March 2017, Binh Duong delegation paid a working visit to ITRI on smart city development and cooperation in high-tech research. This is the most important research institute in Taiwan (China) in industry and technology field. Becamex IDC and ITRI also signed a memorandum of understanding, in which the two sides agreed to seek opportunities for cooperation in areas such as smart city development, cloud computing technology, high-quality human resource training...
During the visit, the two sides exchanged many issues of interactive data analysis system on cloud computing, high-tech industrial zones, high-quality human resource training and education renovation for the construction of smart city.
Luu Trong Minh, ITRI President cum President of Taiwan Information Technology Research Institute, said that Taiwan's ability of scientific and technological and information technology development had a significant position in the world. With the help of related branches of Taiwan, the institute always seeks cooperation with Southeast Asian countries. This cooperation with Becamex IDC was very important in policy of Taiwan.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hung, Becamex IDC Chairman cum CEO, during the smart city development, Becamex IDC was directed to build industrial parks and attracted more value added industries. In recent years, Becamex IDC was introduced to many successful Taiwanese businesses in the construction and development of industrial zones. Becamex IDC believed that this cooperation would be an exchange of experiences with Taiwanese enterprises in the construction of industrial parks for the smart city.
Foundation for cooperation
Under current conditions of Binh Duong, technology development is a very important factor. Therefore, Binh Duong needs to gather institutions, schools, companies, large corporations at home and abroad to jointly develop this field. This is necessary in order to improve capabilities of local companies so that they could become suppliers to major companies around the world.
In order to contribute to the establishment of smart city, Binh Duong province has built a large-scale eData Center. Being a modern data center, VNPT's eData Center is striving to keep pace with the rapid change of information technology in the era of the Industry 4.0 - the deep development phase of cloud-based services. Therefore, the collaboration between Becamex IDC and ITRI to research and develop an Interactive Data Acquisition Modeling System for cloud-based advertisement and wireless internet is significant.
To mark and lay the foundation for long-term cooperation between Becamex IDC and ITRI in many areas, ITRI has recently launched and handed over the next generation advertising machine at Becamex Trade Center (Thu Dau Mot City). This new generation advertising machine is a product of ITRI, not only provides information and entertainment services, but also is a modern machine based on the idea of industry 4.0 and smart city. It is capable of linking with other devices such as Smartphones to form a network for data collection and processing.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Luu Trong Minh said, "We are honored to have the opportunity to represent ITRI and Taiwan Information Technology Association to cooperate Becamex IDC for the inauguration of the next generation advertising machines. Becamex IDC is one of the largest companies in Vietnam, fully capable of developing a smart city. Mr. Minh also emphasized that the opening ceremony was a testament to the beginning of the cooperation between Becamex and ITRI; cloud-computing solutions were expected to realize the Binh Duong smart city project.
