Under the national target program on new-style rural construction, each new-style rural commune must have effective cooperatives or cooperative groups. Upon this, developing collective economic models is one of practical solutions to uphold abundant human resources in the countryside, generating jobs and increasing people’s income. Over the past time, the province paid more attention to promoting collective economic models. The province’s new-style rural communes also attached special importance to establishing cooperatives and cooperative groups toward better operational quality, increasing people’s income and ensuring the quality of new-style rural construction.

With improvement in production-business, province-based cooperatives, especially ones on agricultural production have actively contributed to the cause of new-style rural construction in localities. Many cooperatives and cooperative groups have become advanced role-models in the local economic development.
Kim Long hi-tech agricultural cooperative in Phu Giao district’s An Binh commune is a typical example for the above-mentioned thing. Established in 2013, the cooperative now has a total of 8 members with 3 hectares of rock melon. It supplies the market with more than 200 tons of rock melon per year with the annual revenue of VND9-VND10billion, creating regular jobs for more than 60 laborers with the monthly income of VND6.5million per person.
Or, Phu An new-style rural commune’s milk cow cooperative group in Ben Cat town has worked very stably. The cooperative group is now home to 11 members with more than 120 milk cows. Joining the cooperative group, the local farmers have enjoyed more advantages in animal husbandry. Upon this, the cooperative group has reached stable operation.
Effective operation
To further uphold the role of cooperatives, cooperative groups in the new-style rural construction program, localities in the province have taken solutions to promote cooperative models. Tran Xuan Tra, Chairman of Tru Van Tho commune’s People’s Committee in Bau Bang district said that new-style rural construction in association with collective economic development is a vital strategy with decisive significance to the completion of criteria of the new-style rural construction program.
Accordingly, the communal Party Committee decided to set up its steering board of collective economic development with 13 members, aiming to improve the effectiveness of the local collective economic sector. The commune is now home to 1 cooperative, 1 cooperative group and 2 linkage groups. So far, most of them have worked effectively.
Le Thanh Son, Vice-Chairman of provincial Alliance of Cooperatives said that over the past time, province-based cooperatives were proactive to surmount difficulties and seek suitable ways for effective production and business. Many cooperatives have bravely developed additional services, promoted coherence among businesses in producing and consuming agricultural products under the chain linkage model for better effectiveness. They have also actively got involved in the new-style rural construction program; carried out services on agricultural development towards goods production, thereby contributing to improving the local rural image.
In the coming time, provincial Alliance of Cooperatives will continue strengthening loan support for cooperatives under the plan of provincial Support Fund for Collective Economic Development. Along with this, the unit will further replicate effective cooperatives, contributing to the local new-style rural construction program; strive to help the sector of collective economy hold an important role in the local socio-cultural and economic development in 2020.
Possibly speaking, the stable development of agricultural models in the new-style rural communes of the province has affirmed the positive efficiency of the new-style rural construction program. This has contributed to promoting the shift of agricultural structure, creating a lever for the process of increasing the value of the sector and enhancing the quality of criteria of the local new-style rural construction program.
