According to the General Statistics Office, the consumer price index (CPI) of August 2015 of the country fell 0.07% compared with the previous month. This was predicted, because price of conventional commodities was stabilized, CPI fluctuation depended on commodities managed by the State.
Meanwhile, domestic gasoline retail price fell sharply, decreased VND1,440/ liter, diesel price dropped VND2,260/ liter, decreasing CPI of transportation fell 2.12%, which was the biggest decline. This CPI is projected to continue to decline in the coming months, while the direct impact of oil price cuts is lengthening, and transportation fees are adjusted.
However, CPI of education increased 0.87%, because many provinces and cities, including: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hoa Binh, Dak Lak, Binh Duong, Can Tho, increased school tuitions. This CPI is expected to rise in the coming months, while school tuitions in some provinces and some education levels are adjusted. Besides, food and catering services also had an increase of 0.1% in CPI compared with the previous month. CPI of this sector has raised in 3 consecutive months and is projected to be higher in the coming months.
