Tran Chi Thanh, Secretary of Dau Tieng district’s Party Committee said that 16 years ago when being established, Dau Tieng faced a lot of difficulties. And till now, the district has become one of the whole country’s bright spots in the National Target Program on New Rural Construction.
Thanks to having advances in industrial manufacture, Dau Tieng district has continuously stabilized its State budge source, improving the lives of the local people. The district has also implemented the Plan No.388/KH-UBND of provincial Party Committee on restructuring agricultural sector with the growth of added value towards sustainable development. Although being an agricultural district, Dau Tieng reached VND778.9bln in trade-service value.
Along with agricultural production, the district has paid more attention to promoting the local agricultural, rural industrialization and modernization by making investment in infrastructure, mechanizing production models, organizing training courses on sci-tech advancements for farmers, introducing hi-yield nurslings and breeding animals to them…The district has also attached special importance to replicating cooperative models.
Such these apart, the district has actively made the shift of the local plant structure. The whole district is now home to 50,755 hectares of rubber trees, greatly contributing to stabilizing and improving the lives of the local people.
Highlight in new rural construction
During the 16-year development process, Dau Tieng reached the average growth of 12.2% a year. In 2014 alone, the district’s total production value was nearly VND2.367trillion, up 430.5% compared to 2000. The district’s most impressive thing was still industrial manufacture with a very fast growing speed. The district also saw great successes in terms of trade-service and agriculture.
Dau Tieng district’s Thanh An commune was the province’s first commune sufficiently meeting all 19 criteria of the new rural construction program. Not only Thanh An, as of late 2014, the district also had additional 3 communes Long Tan, Dinh Hiep and Dinh Thanh fulfilling criteria of the program. The remaining communes has so far completed 13-17 criteria of the program and are preparing for finish in 2015.
Upholding achievements done, Dau Tieng district’s Party Committee has set a target of fulfilling the National Target Program on New Rural Construction in all 10 out of 11 communes. This will help Dau Tieng become the province’s first district completing the program and be among the country’s first 3 districts recognized as new-style rural districts.
For 2015’s main task, the district will further promote the National Target Program on New Rural Construction. Tran Van Nam, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of provincial People’s Committee said that Dau Tieng well realized the local economic development, especially in new rural construction over the past time. But, Dau Tieng district’s Party, government and people needed to make more efforts so that Dau Tieng could soon become a new-style rural district, corresponding to the local potential and internal force.
